Its not on say the level of OBJ and Norman, but its probably a suspension worthy act.

That said, wouldn't be too surprised or angry if the NFL left it at just a fine, and took into account his previous history and immediate apology etc.

Seeing it live I was fairly pissed with Gronk, but its not like he's Vontaze Burfict of anything.

It might also help him in terms of optics that (according to the commentator at least) he marched himself immediately off the field, rather than having to be formally ejected.

    Not before time either

Jerry Reach was lucky to be kept on for as long as he did thanks to his awful drafting

McAdont I never want to hear his name again

That really was such a stupid soundbite of a comment from him. It'll be interesting to see if the interim goes with him or Webb (I expected Geno to be a -lot- worse yesterday, but at the end of the day he's a known quantity which is mediocre at best).

He's been rattling out stupid sound bites since before the opener week 1 vs Dallas. He's just impossible to take seriously.

Think his handling of the Eli situation was the last straw

He got completely off message from what Mara meant

Giants have been really dysfunctional this year and players have quit on him at various stages

The Eli situation has damged the Giants brand with fans, former players and I'm sure current players

    They badly got it wrong

The firings today will mean that the riot that would have been Sundays game is a lot tamer than it would have been

I very much doubt it was McAdoo alone behind the benching of Eli. A great scapegoat though..

No it was def not McAdont alone. Mara did broach the subject with Jerry Reach. Reach and McAdont had been discussing other QBs for a while

There is a huge disconnect between Mara's thoughts and what McAdont delivered

Mara wanted Manning to continue to start with no definitive limit on how much he would play. Such as: If the Giants led the Raiders 21-3 at the half on Sunday, then it wasn’t a given Geno Smith would start the second half. But McAdoo screwed it up and alienated Manning by saying he would start the first half in Oakland and Smith would start the second half. Manning had no interest and Mara said he understood.

“I was hoping that he would continue to play and then we’d work out at what point the other quarterbacks go into the game,” he said. “It was presented the way that Ben thought it ought to be presented and could we have done it differently? I guess you could argue we could have. Yes,” Mara said. “The point was we did not want him on the bench. We wanted him to start the game and play some portion of the game and at some point work the other guys in.”

McAdoo could not even find the right way to bench a legend.

Mara also said that McAdont was not good at communication

Mara hopes that fans will move on now ... but i think he is still underestimating the anger out there

He will get a calmer reception Sunday but as much as McAdont was an idiot in the way he handles Eli, it was Mara's conversation to have really

Never let a boy do a mans work

I’m not sure the reaction would have been quite the same if he had played Webb instead of Geno Smith. Geno Smith like. What’s to evaluate?

Webb may be part of the future. Geno never was going to be
Not having Webb game ready also falls on coaching

The Giants are expected to go back to Eli Manning as their starting quarterback, per source. Giants play at home vs Cowboys this week.

The situation over the last week could have been completely avoided

Talk about a monumental duck up

Titans have signed Luke Stocker TE after he was released from the Buccs.

Jrob knows him and it seems hes a very good run blocker despite his injuries

Yeah they are alright. It's why I was hoping the eagles would keep winning.

White has a concussion because of it too, definitely not going to help Gronkowski

people probably wont agree with this but I think his suspension should match however games Tre'Davious White misses due to the concussion.

Gronk is getting a one game suspension but he plans to appeal.

Fair punishment but i wouldn't be surprised if on appeal its overturned as its his first incident.

Saw this posted on reddit, it was what happened right before the Gronk incident. Le me just say that it is absolutely no justification for what he did, but I can understand his frustration (not his actions).

Not really a viable option to be fair, while it was a nasty thing to do I doubt he thought he would concuss the guy. I think 1 game is probably about fair but an extra one or two games wouldn't have surprised me.

Poor form to appeal it IMO, it was cowardly & had the risk to really hurt someone.

His frustration should have been at the officials not White, he did nothing to Gronk.

I've seen Pats fans on twitter joking that they were disappointed that the suspension was only one game and that they wanted four games! Just so they can keep Gronk healthy for the playoffs!

in fairness the afc is that bad they could probably rest half their team for the remainder of games and still stroll the top seed
