    1. When I'm in the middle of a set on a bench and some guy comes over to stand right beside me shaping in front of the mirror.

    2. Excessively loud grunting.

    3. People playing with their phones while occupying a machine I want to use.

I tend to look at my phone while resting, might get a message mid exercise so check it then. Sure I'd just just be sitting there anyway.

The Irish Times doesn't know that there are any other sport other than running. At times the paper seems to be a massive shill for running.

I hate when I’m in the gym and the Irish Times are interviewing people on treadmills instead of me.

Hmm. I'm not convinced. However I shall be splitting this discussion off into a new thread, as it's off topic here. Give me a few hours to get on a latop and tidy up.

Raw city center 5.15pm today some brotard was doing curls standing over the bench press, then sitting down on the bench between sets, those 5kg plates most have been very difficult for him to lift from the floor.

I think hes a competitive 'natural' bodybuilder

When I came back from the showers there was a guy sitting on the same bench as mine and he looks like he is having his dinner out of a a tubawear container. Had a fork and all. I proceed to dry off and he looks over with a shocked face like put it away I am eating here...

Seriously if you don't want to see dick and arse while your eating dont eat in a changing room.

Eating in the changing rooms is especially heinous but this eating meals in the gym thing seems a bit odd to me alright. A coffee/banana/energy drink is grand but there's something off-putting about the scent of warm food wafting around the gym. Could ye not wait till after like? Maybe people are putting too much stock into the fabled "golden hour".

Gotta hit that 30s anabolic window.

Honestly never seen or heard of that, I'm sure there's a reason for it but it just seems lazy! "I want the benefits without having to stand."

    I do it.

I go to the leg press.
3sets of single leg press for each leg.
    Add more weight.
    3sets of calf raises.
    Add more weight.
    1 set of leg press.
    Add more weight.
    3 sets of leg press.

I squat before that. I don't squat in/on the leg press.

I do exercises after those too.

Right I'm gonna get this off my chest (pun intended) and take the flak.

    I hog squat racks.

My workouts involve variations on the big movements and I'd often spend an hour in a rack in Flyefit Macken warming up, working out, resting a bit... couldn't give a flying f**k how long I take.

Have never refused a request to work in, I enjoy the company.

Last night a fella actually stepped over my bag in the rack to unrack my bar whilst I was off hunting out dumbbells for a superset. Honestly, in the time it took me to walk over to the DB area, look at the racks and turn around he had the weights off.

Why can't all of the gym bunnies (male, don't mind the females) leave us manly fat beefy powerlifters alone. Stick to the smith rack and machines!!!

Who keeps a bag in the squat rack?

    What was in it anyway?

If the bag won't go in the lockers then better to have it with you, in the rack and out of the way.

Lad in my old gym used to ignore the lockers and, to the best of my knowledge, keep his bag in the changing rooms, padlocked closed. The mind boggles.
