    6. I'm a misanthrope.

    I dont know what a misanthrope is, but you're definitely something else too!

    Do what you like but if you take a selfie for Snapchat while posing like your on stage at a NABBA you deserve to be batteted with weights

    Honest? Some people can't handle the realness. Everyone else on here loves people working in I'm sure. This is the Annoying Gym Behaviour thread not the passive aggressive insult thread.

    I actually welcome the working in sometimes. Just for that bit of social interaction. Always train on my own. :(

    Probably been mentioned before but groups of young guys who congregate around the free weights taking turns doing their reps but spend most of the time between reps chatting/talking ****e while being completely oblivious to the other gym users waiting to get on.

    A few from recent times -

    Young lad training his girlfriend, sits on the dumbbell rack scrolling through instagram while she does her set.

    Big fella grunting and shouting like a madman on the cable crossover - 18kg each side. Then proceeds to drop the stack from the top position.

    Guy in his 50's goes between spin bike, cross trainer and rower. Pisses sweat all over each. Doesn't bother to give even a courtesy wipe.

    Women wearing loads of make-up.

    God yeah...I do a lot of running i.e. 5k, 10k, 10 milers, HM and full marathons. I cannot for the life of me understand the women who turn up to events like they are about to go on stage at the Rose of Tralee.

    I have found myself at the start line just staring in amazement at the make up plus jewelry.

    I'd say a woman being starred at would be classed as more of an annoying gym behaviour rather than a woman wearing makeup

    Depends on the women I guess. Alternatively I could just tell them how ridiculous I think they look but each to their own.

    I doubt your opinion matters to them. Maybe you look right ridiculous to them

    I think you should try, video it while you do and post it here for us all to see.

    I'd f-ing love you to come up to me in the gym and say something to me about my makeup
    *crosses fingers, hopes we're in the same gym

    You can just tell him how ridiculous his hat looks.

    Quite true. I keep it to myself and as I tell myself:

    'At least they are out there giving it a go.' If wearing make up makes then feel good then fine. I am just thinking about the sweat.

    I know this is slightly off topic but it does follow on from annoying gym behavior.

    - People who do not shower before entering the swimming pool....

    Despite the umpteen signs people just saunter past and get straight in to the pool.

    Sorry to pick on women again but they are the most obvious offenders: -

    - Caked in makeup;
    - Perfume;
    - Jewellery;
    - Deodorant;
    - Fake tan;
    - AN other bodily fluids

    Because I love the idea of swimming in water with a layer of grim comprising of the aforementioned substances. Yummy....

    Another mod warning: keep it light hearted and jovial. No more personal snipes please.

    Thanks. Brian

    I don't get how women in makeup would annoy anyone.
    When my wife goes to the gym she generally doesn't wear makeup. But sometimes she rushes to get a quick session in after work and doesn't have time to take it off
    ...not that anyone should give a sh1t

    Maybe you didn't get the memo pal but this isn't a place for level headed logical thinking. It's trivial sh1t that annoys people. You're not supposed to "get it"

    I'm a member at Westpoint. There's a lot to complain about, like the guy who dries his nether regions at the hand drier in the men's toilet. But what I find most irritating is that the people who work there, or work out of there (PTs), can't be bothered to observe and/or monitor the rules.

    Just the other morning one of the PTs was doing his own workout. He loads 300kg onto the leg press machine and as soon as he's finished with it he walks away as though those twelve 25kg plates have nothing to do with him. A few minutes later there's a small woman trying to unload them, which I figure constituted a workout in itself. Not this guy's first offence either, I see him do this regularly, when he's not ignoring the appalling form of his clients. On the same day one of the female PTs was training two clients at the same time and as soon as they were done with whatever equipment they had, same deal, just drop it on the floor and walk away. And there's an accident waiting to happen whenever anyone goes into the staff room off the weights area, as they have no problem walking across the "danger do not cross" flashing around the racks, even when there's someone staggering around it with a heavy bar on their shoulders.

    Don't these people get some sort of health and safety briefing when they start work? And what hope is there of engendering any sort of considerate ethos in the place when the staff and PTs can't be bothered?

    I went back to listening to my own music just to drown out the discount pop/trance my gym plays.

    First world problems. My gym is deathly quiet, all you can here is people breathing. No wifi and it's underground so the reception is ****e

    My gym is too hot, if you need to lose weight for a prize fight it's the best place but otherwise the building is not built for purpose and is roasting, cardio is not fun, long breaks are needed.

    I'm half worried someone has posted about me :pac:

    Only annoyance I have is not wiping sweat off, my gym is pretty small and everyone is sound but the odd time they just walk off.

    What's the crack with lads filming workouts with their mates with DSLR setups? Is that legal in a gym? Had a few Rob Lipsett wannabe's in Raw this afternoon taking up acres of space and fluting around with a Sony A7SII (Not a cheap camera)

    I don't particularly want to be in the background of your sh*tty Instagram video buddy, put away the camera!
