Agree on the full kit thing, but I do kinda find it interesting when you see someone in an obscure / little followed team jersey e.g. Blackburn Rovers, West Brom or as I saw yesterday, Notts Forest.
As a Forest supporter, I'm not taking this Notts Forest - it's Notts County and Nottm Forest ;)

Young lad (late teens/early 20s I suspect) in the gym this morning was blow drying is hair as I came in. Spent almost the entire time I was changing fixing his hair into place, giving it Blue Steel to the mirror etc.; then before he leaves sprays about a half a jar of lynx or some cheap shoyte like that all over himself. He was wearing a tracksuit and I assumed he had worked out and was leaving........but no, he was going into the gym to start his session. heaven knows what his post workout pruning and preening regime must be like.

Use liquid chalk. Surely that’s not banned

Saw a girl wearing a Bruno Alves Portugal jersey before. Thought it was a very niche choice in player to get printed on the back.

My brain read that as Bruno Mars...I was very confused.

Makes the bar all sticky. Some of us are the next person to use it. Some of us don’t like a sticky bar.

    Chalky isn't sticky.

Either you are thinking of tacky (used in strongman), or that was some other white residue on the bar :D

Chalk doesn't make a bar sticker at all. It's like talc.

I think you mean Brian that chalk is not like talc. Except for being a white powder.
Chalk is abrasive and helps with grip, talc is a lubricant (its why its used for chafing) and will not help with grip.

I think he meant it's a fine dry powder like talc. Not that it's exactly the same.
Neither talc or chalk are sticky - whereas tack is.

FWIW chalk isn't an abrasive. It's a drying agent. It improves grip by removing sweat. It actually fills in ridges on our fingers and palms making them technically smoother.

Speaking of selfies.. a while back in my gym.. one lad who had some serious body dysmorphia going on (not the body builder he thought was), literally had a stack of dumbbells, one on top of the other so he could film himself doing cable cross overs. I presume to check how 'swole' he was getting.

Chalk isn't abrasive at all. It's only function is to dry up sweat.

Why do the people be doing the gaa gear hating?

Maybe I'm missing something as I have zero interest in gaa myself.
I used to wear a Pachuca jersey to the gym..... I also used to bring my chalk in a McDonald's bag to annoy the 6 pack chasers

I generally avoid this thread as I like to stay positive but the girl beside me on the leg extention and then the leg press- if you're texting DURING all of your sets then why are you even in the gym?

Surely No. 5 should be No. 1? :pac:

I really don't get the hate for the gloves though. I'm not the kind to walk around with gloves on between sets or wear them doing cardio/legs etc. I do actually need them!
