I myself don't mind squat rack hogging if there's plenty of other racks around. You should be using it the whole time though. Super-setting with dumbbell stuff I'm not so sure about...I think anyone seeing someone go from a squat rack to the dumbbell area SHOULD signify that they should be finished with the rack

Didn't he say FF gym?.. Their lockers and locker rooms are typically sh*t and a lot of people (when I trained in FF) took bags into the gym.

But depending on the time of day hogging something for an hour like that isn't very considerate to other gym users, and its not cooling saying its cool for someone to work in if they request. Just do your sh*t and move on, and try be considerate of others.

Doesn't matter if its a rack, cardio equipment or even a swimming lane. Have some consideration for other gym users.

It's annoying when someone is using a rack for what seems like forever but people dont always faff about in a rack with no consideration for anyone else. If I was doing high volume squats and then maybe OHPs, I'll be staying in the rack for both and I dont think its inconsiderate for someone to do that would always allow someone to work in and help with loading and unloading.

Plenty of times Ive gone in and been waiting for a good while for people to finish in racks and it is annoying but just because I'm hanging around (if i need to keep rests strict, in which I'll be out of the rack quickly once I get in) and not necessarily because the people there are inconsiderate.

Someone wearing gloves doesn't bother me but are you wearing them for wrist support (mentioned wraps)?

As mentioned here before, as arnie once said, if you’re going to wear gloves, make sure they match your purse

"full kit ****" is the term I believe.

There's a fella in one of the gyms I go to who wears full Tottenham Hotspur Tracksuit which is what he starts out his warm up wearing. Then when he starts his session per se, he strips down to reveal the full Tottenham Hotspur kit, complete with football socks.

I don't know about the soccer socks per se, but some of the GAA socks I've seen look like they're about an inch thick and have more wool than your average Aran sweater. You'd have to wear a half size bigger sneaker/trainer/runner to accommodate them.

    :pac:

Funny comment sure, but I can't do successive session without them though as my hands blister like crazy if I do.

Fingerless cycling gloves on a machine... I don't get it

Also wrist wraps, but worn all the way through the workout...machines, cables, dips... I don't get it

Agree on the full kit thing, but I do kinda find it interesting when you see someone in an obscure / little followed team jersey e.g. Blackburn Rovers, West Brom or as I saw yesterday, Notts Forest.

I support Blackburn and do get quite a few stares when I wear one of the jerseys in the gym.

You have probably blister so badly without gloves, because you wear gloves all the time. A bit of a catch 22.

But chalking up will also prevent blistering (caused by bar slipping), and has the benefit over gloves that it will strengthen your grip.

Wrist wraps (as opposed to straps) support the wrist for heavy pushing. If somebody had a wrist injury, there would be a reason to wear them for the whole workout

Forgot to mention, seen a guy in the gym yesterday benching 130kg using wrist straps and a suicide grip. But he had the straps on the same side as his hand, so they weren't actually holding the bar. I was sure I was about to see a disaster

No need to wear them doing curls or on the Pec Deck then... also supernovae fitting so it's a fashion accessory.

Also, indoor hats baffle me a bit too.

Sorry for all the new ones, just switched gym from Raw and forgot what other gyms were like

Depends on the injury tbh. Wrist injuries are a bitch. Or maybe it's just easier to leave them on rather than on/off/on/off.
I've no idea what you mean by supernova though, so maybe that's changes everything.

Ah ok, thought supernova was some new fitness trend. It should be.

Leaving hundreds of dumbells scattered all over the ground.

Word to the wise.."supersetting" with 20 different light dumbells and throwing them around the floor doesn't make you look hardcore, nor does allowing the stack to clank when you're finished doing poxy cable crossovers (with yizzer hats on).

I hate when people moan about others wearing gloves. It's like an eye-rolling Instagram post from Dwayne Johnson talking about 'clanging and banging', like one day someone decided this random thing isn't 'cool' and everyone decided to go along with it like its secondary school because everyone wants to be all, "I know the most about what's cool in the gym." That **** puts me off gym culture more than anything, it's so tragic when adults carry on that way.

I wear gloves because I hate getting calluses on my hands. They're off-putting during a set, especially if I'm trying to lift something heavier and grip is an issue, so I don't want to be thinking about anything else while I'm pushing myself. I also knew a lad who used to show people his calluses just to be like "Oh btw I go to the gym justsoyaknow..." and I desperately don't want to end up like him, so they protect me against calluses and being an out-and-out twat.

Do I need them for everything? No, but it's way more time-consuming and annoying to take them off for exercises I don't, then have to remember bringing them on top of my towel and water bottle. Is it a fashion accessory? HA! When I go to the gym, I roll out of bed at 6am, grab the first clean gym top and shorts I can find (whether they match or not), and run down in a hurry with a big bed-head on me so I can get my workout done before the place fills up with the pre-work crowd. So no, I'm not thinking about fashion at that time. It's practical and, if anything, I know I'm gonna have the aforementioned people in the gym rolling their eyes at me. Tbh if anything that just makes me want to get neon pink gloves just to annoy them more.
