If you combine Germanwings and Eurowings to Lufthansa it brings them to 1011 arrivals.

SAS with 489 are actually ahead of UA

I'd actually love to see a full Lufthansa Group count, it must be astronomical

    What about an IAG count?

Alas! I stand corrected... I wasn't able to find updated figures. I'd imagine with those numbers, AA and UA still lead in terms of passenger numbers?
    I think so. It's A320's versus B767/777/787.

    Indo speculating PHL or SEA

    It won't be much longer.

No aircraft to operate SEA since only a 757 will be free to operate a new route...

PHL is already operated by AA. whats the point on competition on a route with a future JV partner? I would see PIT happening quicker.

I am sure we will know soon which route or routes they will launch anyway.

I am surprised that the One World alliance plan was forgotten but probably it would be too costy to Aer Lingus.

Huh ? I thought EI had a new 330 due in next few months and another due next year ?

Yeah, PHL already has AA, so would be a strange move. Vegas I can see working as there is definitely a lot of Irish people that holiday in Vegas (especially around McGregor fights etc).

There was talk a while back about flights to Texas, either Dallas Fort Worth or Houston. Both big business centres... Something like that might make more sense. Mid-west and Southern Central US states are not serviced by Dublin at all.

MIA, Increased LAX (reduced to make way for MIA), IAD. 4 weekly B752 is what's available. None due in 2018 yet.

Part of me still wouldn't rule out that alleged privilege style "error" a while back. Could well cover for any A330 which might be due by late 2018.

330 arriving in December will take the IAD route. The current 330 that operates MCO will operate MIA too (opposite days).

so only a 757 will be free to operate a new route (if there is any).

a350 not arriving next year, as already mentioned on this forum.

Sorry my bad I thought there was another for next year.

4 weekly 757 could be put on a flight a 330 is on (Toronto)and change that to a 4x 330. But all will be revealed if indeed they reveal anything.

Next Wednesday (4th Oct) reported announcement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,848 ✭✭✭✭Jamie2k9

Hmm a spare 757 will be around with IAD going 330, I'd say east coast. If following the rumours it'll be PIT or PHL but only time will tell.

Current schedules have IAD split (4x330, 3x752), 4 weekly 752 slot while 3 weekly 330 is for tech cover like normal.

YYZ is also split. its only for now. it will be both daily on the 330 when the whole the summer program is completed. same happened last year on the EWR route for summer etc.

No midweek 330's to Faro next summer. Appears to be Saturday only.

Looks like PHL is all but official.

Seems odd to me with AA already on the route. But I'm sure EI are looking at their available resources and the demand in each market.

Pre IAG it would of made sense just like going back to EWR. Given it will likely be only 4 weekly B752 it should do well for them.

The whole AA JV is off the table or at least it was (last year) because of EI's cost structure and how integrating it would have problems and potentially rise costs for them. Walsh said it might happen at some stage but there was no rush.

Wasting 4 months of the 12 month guarantee :)

    Seriously why not

Use it to service other aircraft
Lease it out to the likes of Quantas who will be hitting peak at that time
    AIG use it (credits/hire)

Hard to imagine an insurance company needing it too often ;)

Because there is no real market to lease it out. It's likely it may operate between Jan-Mar when some heavy maintenance is carried out.

Thought same, apparently not, staying in storage... something to do with depreciation value etc....way above any rational thinking

    I see.

They only start depreciation when it goes into use, it does sort of make sense not to use it until 2018.

Been fair Q1 is a bad period for T/A so unless they need it, makes complete sense to store it until activity picks up in March.

Could it be taken out of storage relatively quickly if an A330 goes tech? I know there's more slack in the winter schedule but it would shut up the critics who repeat "why don't they have a spare" over and over.

Why did they (IAG) accept a delivery slot in late November when there was no work required for it? Surely an airline group with such a large order book could have arranged something, it's not like you see Iberia or British Airways storing brand new aircraft for months at a time post delivery.

No. There are different levels of storage programs, long term or short term with renewal to cover periods from seven days to many months and the requirements are different for each program but depending on which program you choose and how far you are into it you may require a bit of notice to get it out of storage and into service. Depends also where it's been kept in storage, if it's in TLS they might be geared up for returning aircraft to service quickly but it could easily take a couple of days or more to plan and carry out all the maintenance tasks involved.

It was mentioned above and it's not worthy of its own thread. But how long of a warranty if any would you get with s plane lol

If they don't fly it until next year, they don't have to tax it and can get it on a 181D plate :p

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.
