    Bad sack now ugh.

There is literally one rule for pass interference when DBs face WRs and another rule for pass interference when DBs face Gronk

The D has been shredded. Those 2 big play TDs are exactly what Bill try's to avoid most of all, but they've been huge.

Stat going around that we didn't give up any 90+ yard TD drives from 2013 - 2016 at home. We've given up 3 tonight.

Last season the longest play we gave up was 26 yards.

TBF offense isn't looking that sharp either.

Going out with a whimper on that 3 and out.

They could legitimately run the game out here.

D has been dismantled. Flowers seemed to be the only one getting a degree of pressure.
Offense had chances to put a sizeable lead together early on, but never really edged away.
Altogether a really poor night. Doesn't end the season, but serious work required.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

Pats looks lost...very surprising for a BB coached team.

As a fan I'm not panicked, I know we have the talent on the field and on the sidelines but we have a couple of tough games ahead to figure this out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,438 ✭✭✭j8wk2feszrnpao

Credit to KC, this is a fully deserved win for them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

Embarassing loss really, to get so outclassed on every phase and by such a wide margin too.

I want to just chalk it down to being one of those nights, but there was so much about that "performance" that should have alarm bells ringing. That's ruined the opening weekend now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,438 ✭✭✭j8wk2feszrnpao

12 men on the field after a timeout? Sums up the night.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

Silver lining is that we dont have the pressure of a perfect season hanging over us...BB out-thinking the league again* :pac:

**TBF i'm such a believer in BB, i wouldnt put it past him to believe that this was his plan all along

Good stuff from Chiefs, delighted for Smith. Not all doom and gloom for Pats though, they do need work but this was a very good Chiefs performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,297 ✭✭✭coco0981

Good stuff from the chiefs, Smith was out to prove a point tonight. Not going to give up his starting spot without a fight. Hope Berry not out too long, Achilles can be a niggly one to get rid of

Be funny if BB just answered every question in press conference with "we're on to New Orleans's"

    Overreaction Friday coming I presume.

Especially considering the last time the Pats were hammered by the Chiefs in September they went on to win the SB.

Just one of those days where almost everything goes wrong!

40.6 fantasy points for Kareem Hunt. Quite a debut, fumble aside!

Incredible performance by the Chiefs, look like they have improved all round again. Andy Reid did a masterful job in play calling. Tyreek Hill and Hunt were excellent. Kelce was good but makes some stupid decisions at times. His temper needs to be tamed.

One massive problem though is the injury to Eric Berry. He's an incredible athlete and will be a big loss if it is indeed an achilles. Pats were poor all round but that can happen on opening night team comes out a little flat, one thing that would worry me about them if I was a fan would be their defence, struggled everywhere. Coverage, run game, short yardage. Considering the amount of calls that went the way of the Patriots in terms of penalties its surprising they didn't get the result.

Great game to start the season either way. Wrecked in work now! Luckily on a halfer to play golf so that will clear the head!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Possible torn achilles for Eric Berry. What a kick in the teeth that would be for KC.

The scoreline was amazing considering the penalty yardage against KC was massive. Kelce's taunting stood out as stupid.

Incredibly stupid. Needs to take a leaf out of Tony Gonzalez book and never react. Even if the defender is sitting on your head. Could have cost the Chiefs the game in that spot too as the game was very much in the melting pot.

Wow! Went to bed a half time expecting the Pats to slowly but surely pull away for maybe a 10 point win... what happened!? I joked early in the match that Belichick must have been possessed by Mike McCarthy* but the second half it seems he and Patricia were possessed by Dom Capers. Over 550 yards of offense!?

*As a Packers fan, he's one of the best coaches around... he just makes the occasional slam-face-into-wall type calls on 4th-and-1.
** As a Packers fan, he's the least deserving coach/coordinator in the league to still have the same job since the day after whichever Fisher or Bradley were sacked last.

Amendola could be a really underrated guy to miss through injury (in terms of media coverage) especially with Edelman gone, what was it - concussion?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

    That was glorious :)

Shouldn't be an overreaction though - Pats will still coast to that division and plenty of teams will lose to the Chiefs. They've been arguably the second best team in football since midway through the 2015 season, certainly in the regular season.

Has the NFL mobile site turned to sh1t for anyone else? It was always poor but they revamped it, and either they've taken a load of useful information off the front page or it isn't loading for me (repeatedly)

I like the Chiefs but Berry's injury could be bad news for them.

Pats have a tough schedule, but should still win the division, not sure they'll coast it though

That taunting penalty seemed like such a momentum changer at the time, thought it was game over. Kelce is a great player but a bit of a loose cannon as well

They'll probably still coast the AFC East, but most people were assuming that to win the AFC championship you would have to win in foxboro. Maybe not as sure a thing now

Without question, it was the worst defensive performance of the Belichick era. it wasn't too long ago that the Pack & Pats had the two worst secondary's in the league and based on last nights performance, it looks like we've joined up with you again. The front 7 have a lot of new players in play still learning the defense so I'll give them a pass for last night.

Offensively, it wasn't much better. Not going back to the hurry up, which cut The Chiefs apart on the 1st drive was a mystery.Turning the ball over on 4th down was dire and Brady the best QB ever at the QB sneak, didn't even try it once. Maybe the coaching staff didn't want him risking injury, but feck it, it's nearly a sure thing when he goes for it.

Ya, I think it was a concussion and it happened during a punt return. He was the only WR on the field Brady could trust. Because Cooks in his first game is clearly not there yet and Dorsett is just in the door. Gronk is clearly nowhere near being at 100% yet and the rest of the WR's are on IR. So Amendola cannot afford to miss any time.

I reckon The Chiefs could have beaten us by more, but their discipline was really bad and they needlessly gave away a lot of silly penalties. Before last night The Pats were 81-0 when leading at half time, so it doesn't happen to often and full credit to The Chiefs. Early days yet, but I'm not looking forward to Drew and his crew facing up against our defense next week.

When I seen the week 1 schedule I thought it would be the game, most interesting game on paper by a mile imo.

Ya titans raiders would have been my choice as well. Though Lions-Cards could be a bit of a shootout, both teams potential playoff contenders.

Doesn't matter think I'll watch Redzone

Ah it's like Christmas Day after the weeks of build up.

Unfortunately due to travelling I won't be able to sit down and watch till about 7.30

The picture on gamepass is hoping up well. They also seem to be showing the pre game shows of the network the game is on. I'm watching the fox pregame show and terry Bradshaw is as daft as last season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,522 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Unlike previous years where we'd get the "game will begin shortly" placeholding screen I'm watching the us national anthem and I've gotten the full pre game show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

The National Anthem is nearly a sport in itself now.

Giving it socks as always. Let's go eagles. Jason Kelce better have his head in the game and play better than he did in pre season game no 3.
