Yes I'm gone that way now. You learn to have patience with the whole process.

I've passed all stages and my vetting has been sent for sign off.

But I'm still waiting to meet a Sergeant and Inspector from my local station.

Has anybody been in this situation before? I was hoping to make the November intake but it's not looking likely now...

That's really abnormal. Never heard of that before. That would suggest that your vetting isn't complete but if they told you it's gone for sign off then I don't know .

First time posting. Been following these forums on and off the past year. Found they make things out to be actually harder than they are. I.e. The physical is handy. I'm 5 11 , 15 stone. I'm carrying weight but I do play football but my fitness level is very average. Flew the physical. My advice to people is don't over think it, ya you won't just get off the couch and fly it but you def don't need to be usain bolt. I did not find the instructors to be strict in the bleep test. I went in the lane beside a lad that played gaa and looked fit so just told myself to keep with him and I be sound and i was. That ways your setting yourself a task and can push yourself on. Hope that advice helps someone. My question is....... I'm from January 16 campaign. Got set back six months on my medical but now have everything passed. Rang hr 2 wks ago and they just to see was my file signed off. They told me they were waiting to hear back from management. I also asked if they could give me an idea of my oom to which they said they had not got it to hand. Is either of those something I should be concerned about or is this just normal. Apologies for the s a😊

    Another week closer. :D:D

It's notable that the commissioner should be back in the office this week/today so hopefully we should see some movement regarding final sign off this week

Possibility that offers will be going out next week

Do we reckon the first round of offers will be out next week? Thought it'd be the week after at the earliest.

What days do the offers generally go out?

There's no set day as such. It can be any day of the week.

Generally they give 4 weeks notice to the first induction week. Last intake they gave 5 weeks notice.

Induction weeks are set for the 16th and 23rd of october so next week is a possibility

Is it necessary to have a car whilst in templemore ?

I know there is a train station,

Just wondering if recruits are moved out into houses with families how does it work if your miles away from templemore etc ?

    Thanks

Not really for first cpl months as you are living on campus. Buy after 3 months your moved out to digs, so a car will be necessary. Could be lucky and the digs will be in walking distance or you'll be out in the sticks somewhere.

Damn thought it was after 2 new intakes (6months) you were moved out to digs :(

Effort of staying in digs tbh :L I only live about 25 minutes away from the college too ! Not that it will make any difference unfortunately.

No bother. Few lads I know from my home town have recently been in and gone through and they said it's a matter of luck where your digs are and some are not as nice as others. But apparently it's easier to live on campus just roll out the bed and off you go.

Sure let us know how you get on.

Wasted phonecall. Same answer as always. " still parts outstanding"
So frustrating knowing November is out the window for me. Have to wait until end December/ Start of January. 2 yrs life is on hold making no plans for holidays etc just in case.
Seems the dream is slowly slipping away.
