In some ways I'm looking forward to seeing the LA chargers play in their new stadium. It's not a typical nfl stadium or even a college stadium so it'll have a very unique look and feeling.

Should make for an interesting episode of Hard Knocks.

For whatever reason he couldn't seem to settle. It's very unfortunate and I'm not sure he'll have teams banging down his door going on his body of work last year either.

He needs to step away for a while, work on his basics. He's obviously got talent and he's still very young. As a second round pick you'd assume he had a decent amount of guaranteed money so no need to necessarily jump straight back in with someone else.

Just like the Kap protest, it doesn't bother me and he's very much entitled to do it.
But know your audience, it's gonna offend a lot of people, and again just distracts from the actual message (it's gonna be about Marshawn and the flag rather than the cause).

But it literally just got you to post about the cause. I just had a quick look at your last few posts (no stalker :) ) and none of them before this one was about institutional and ingrained racism in American society.

Plus you know, maybe it doesn't always have to be about a bigger message.

It's difficult for me, as a white Englishman, to put myself in the shoes of a black American famous sportsman but were I in that situation, where I and my family literally were only in the country because my ancestors were kidnapped and taken as slaves to work for rich old white men and where I was now in a League where 80%+ of the players are black, where the perception is that players are underpaid compared to other sports, where I have no job security and where I risk life-changing injuries every single day all so that 32 almost exclusively rich old white men maybe a weekend like this maybe I wouldn't feel like respecting the flag either.

It's nothing to do with the military. You literally have white supremacist Nazis killing people on the streets of America this weekend.

Do you man me? Cause I still haven't posted about the issue itself :)

I've been to a number of places in the US. And they are really passionate about their flag, more so than the UK/Ireland would be. Marshawn and Kap have valid concerns and issues to raise. I just think the real discussion has been been sidetracked to the flag and the players, which is a shame.

Will Aguayo get another shot at a training camp this year? Barring injuries I imagine that's unlikely?

Lol no. He has done well enough in this league. People's standards in this case will mysteriously vanish with regards to Lynch.

I don't see the big deal, they are making a peaceful protest, league is overly patriotic and don't get me started on the military loving.

The flag waving America home of the brave horse sh*t sickens me anyway.

I actually like the way the USA respects their flag and their soldiers.

But I also like the way some players make people question that loyalty, nothing is above question or challenge. I still think Kaepernick, Lynch and others deserve credit for putting their head above the parapet, it would be so much easier to avoid the issue.

Aguayo was an exceptional kicker in college. Maybe it was the pressure of being drafted so high. I could imagine that no matter what he did it was hard to please the coaches. He can still make it I think.

Apparently its a technique thing. Very interesting article on it here.

That is a great article. This part quoted for me is key. Its almost like he picked up a bad habit and now its messing up his kicking.
    Skipping Out
This is probably the point where you are asking yourself, “What does this have to do with Aguayo’s skip step and can we go read about quarterbacks?”

Aguayo’s skip step, although it could fire too early on occasion, is the mechanism he built to allow his leg’s momentum to be flowing through the target at the point of impact. Remember that a kicker’s swing operates on a plane, it is not naturally flowing vertically straight through the target. In Aguayo’s case, his natural swing plane is actually pushing the ball off the outside of the right upright – but the counterbalance of his skip step and momentum moving to his left allowed the force to be imparted directly through the target when everything was working smoothly.

But the slight hunch Aguayo picked up last pre-season had the effect of shifting the momentum of his skip step because of the added resistance on his front side. As a result, there was a less consistent pull to the left to balance things out, which resulted in a higher number of misses to the right. The timing and execution of Aguayo’s skip step is so critical to his success, and a little wrinkle in his mechanics like this one was all that was needed to throw things out of whack for the season.

Tell me as someone who watches all giants games does he ever drop easy passes either?

Ha of course he does remember the one where he was wide open, after beating Norman, for a td and absolutely fluffed it?

I wonder how many one handed catches he dropped? And how many of those he easily could have caught with two?

Had more drops last year than his first two years combined, but its still a relatively low drop rate.

But yeah, he definitely has some drops. Sometimes the issues are just Eli throwing him a high ball in double coverage, but there has been a few gimmies that have hit the dirt. The playoff game last year was a bad one.

That said, I don't really recall him not catching a ball simply because he went for it needlessly with one hand.

He doesn't needlessly go for the ball with one hand. I don't think I ever remember seeing him do that. He did drop too many relatively straight-forward catches last year though to the point where you have to question the time spent practising the one handed Madden catches before every game.

As Knex said though, his drop rate is low, it's just you expect him to catch everything.
