I have a new one! As mentioned earlier in the thread, I grew up in the USA, so I have heard a *lot* of crap names .

Anyway, a guy I went to high school with popped up in my FB feed over the weekend, along with his little daughter ... Panda.

That is legit her name. :D

A friend of mind has a very young nephew called 'Mason'.

I can't think of a single Irish surname that would jive with with 'Mason'.

I know its been said before but "Princess".
I mean why do Africans love calling their kids stupid stuff like that.

The woman on question was on the train this morning and dressed in a very nice suit. I can just image her in a meeting presenting to a group and introducing herself as Princess. To me, a name like that causes an instance loss of credibility.

Hayden, Kayden and Jayden will all be in the same Junior Infant class in my school next year!

Nearly as bad as the year we had Ava, Eabha, Aoibhe, Eva (last two the parents insisted were pronounced Ava) all in the same class.

I'm also not too impressed with the recent trend for Graces...what if they turn out to be ungainly large oafs...?

A good friend of mine called her only child Gobnait. It is a family name but still.

Wow! I honestly thought Gobnait was a 'made up' name from from the far wesht, from famine times/ from the pages of Peig. I'd put Concepta & Consumpta in the same bracket as Gobnait.
