It's been showing light rain for tomorrow night since the weekend BUT its has also been showing daily max of 25\26 since I've been here and it's been 30 or higher !
It is significantly cooler tonight though

North or South Tenerife? I'm assuming south as that's where the majority of holiday makers go. The TAF for both Tenerife airports shows no precipitation, (TFN is quite wet in comparison to the south), but Tenerife North airport has fog in the forecast, although that's due to altitude.

    South
Will be interesting to see how it pans out but yr.no hasbeen way off so far

Now it's looking like an unsettled start to July again :(. Yeah these models are very uncertain right now and haven't a clue.

Just back from 2 weeks in Lanzarote.

Grey/damp in Dublin 16, with light rain.

High temp here in Dublin 16, while I was away, was 28.3c on the 17th.

12c here in Blackrock and freezing by the sea. Is this type of weather normal in our so called summer? I think I black out he reality year after year

Just add a couple more degrees to like 14-16c and then it's normal weather.

I can be guilty about forgetting about lots of summers but right now I feel this has been one of the worst starts to summer for a few years across much of the country. Most of us had a few warm and sunny days but those few days don't save almost an entire month of grey, damp and cool conditions, much of this month felt like late October or mid March in terms of temperature, rain, grey skies and muckyness. I really hope July and August don't have these long runs of unsettled muck. I would rather a longer spell of dry and averagely warm conditions over a few hot days and the rest of the month being rotten.

I guess I've been lucky with escaping much of the rotten conditions this June 'cause this has been a pretty average June overall here with marginally wet and sunny conditions. It is also currently my warmest June on record - unless today and tomorrow are as cool as they look.

Two summers that come to mind (without looking at statistics) which started off much worse than 2017 are 1987 and 2012.

I remember June 2012, it was bad alright and still remember the awfull summers of 2007, 2008 with all the floods and some very cool conditions.

Our temps look like they will slowly improve from Saturday but Ireland will stay under the influence of the unsettled Altantic conditions as bands of unsettled muck moves from Ireland to Scotland. England and possibly Wales will gain back summer. In Leinster we may get a sniff of summer every now and then.

    currently 13.0c.
max at Dublin Airport, December 25th 2016: 13.5c.

This is not unusual and is quite normal for this country. :(

Our climate is similar to a tropical climate in that instead of sharing temps of 30C+ throughout the year we share temps of 12-14C throughout most of the year. We do get some extra warmer days compared to the Shetland Islands tho!.

cold and wet here too, same as yesterday. Yesterday evening was very cool and now the house is cold, fire will probably be lit this evening and tomorrow evening.

Same here. I've had no sunshine at all since Tuesday, a bit shocking seeing two consecutive completely dull days here for June - very rarely happens.

We didn't even get the warm sunny week in Donegal, while the rest of the country was baking in sunshine it was 15C with mist and drizzle for a full week here!

Finally a dry day today (albeit dark and grey) though rain isn't far away looking at the radar. Really cold out with strong gusts, not far away from needing a winter jacket

June has been abysmal so far in North Mayo - we are really paying for the good April/May here:(

Is next week and the week after looking dicey lads?

Is next week and the week after looking dicey lads?

Yesterday, they were showing signs of fine weather taking place next week and getting increasingly warmer. Today, they show low pressure to the northwest all the time with changeable, unsettled weather continuing.

The basic message is they haven't a clue whatsoever what's going on for early July and that it's very uncertain.

Just caught the end of the BBC weekly outlook, admitting the models are all over the place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,681 ✭✭✭pauldry

I dont really go by the models too much but i reckon the 2nd half of July will see things much quiter brighter and drier.

Thought the same for Junes weather but the good weather only lasted a week

    So in summary id say

Rain every day in the nw 1st to 15th July
Drier thereafter in nw with just our normal drizzle in morning and a few warm sunny spells by day

The rest of Ireland refer to met eireann as they ignore us most of the time

I could have done with gloves on the bike this morning, baltic in Dublin. Google tells me it's going to be 21c and sunny in Dublin for the next 2 days, are they for real?

Met Éireann showing 20c on Saturday and 19c on Sunday for Dublin. Both days with some sunny intervals.

Dropped my daughter off to school this morning in Dublin. Was cold and dark and could have been November. Didn't get that summer holidays feeling.
