Tell you what if people are coming on here and saying McGregor only has a 0.001% chance of winning then please PM me- I will gladly take your odds of 1000/1 in a two horse race.

Hasn't that footage been around since before his second fight with Diaz?

Jack Slack who wrote a book on Conor admiring his skill even thinks this is a silly fight. There is nothing wrong with dismissing it as a silly fight. One thing I've always noticed about obsessive fans, the type who sit with clenched teeth and sweat watching their heroes, is if you stake every waking minute of your existence on what an idol does or doesn't do and what people say that is nasty or good about them you are not living life yourself, one day they will retire... Seriously some people on this forum should relax.

I think Conor is happy to get knocked out for 100m haha I would do many many things for 100m way worse than getting knocked out.

Provided he just gets knocked out. There are a lot worse things that can happen than being knockex out.

Agree on the sales, might be marginally higher though.

Thing is though, for that fight against Berto, he got $30m or something crazy. He gets paid a fortune regardless of who he fights.

Conor doesn't even scratch the surface for that kind of money in MMA.
Floyd gets paid a fortune no matter who he fights because free to broker a deal directly with Showtime/HBO.
It's a bit disingenuous to compare directly with Conor's MMA/PPV share as there he's contracted to UFC, who take the lions share.
Looking at revenue/buys is a much more accurate assessment.

Floyd is of course the A side, they need him to build the event. But Conor brings more to the table, than any other possible opponent. The total will be bigger than the sum of its parts, just like May-Pac.

If the PPV doesn't beat May-Pac I'll close my boards account. If it does, you close yours.

If the two of you dont give it a rest with the personal digs ill close both your accounts for you. Warning applied to both of you.

    Why would someone be stupid?
You can lay him on the exchanges at around 4/5 to 1

Are they going to do a 'face off' interview for this? That could be fun.

That's more of a HBO thing than Showtime I think. Kellerman etc.

Long time lurker first time poster.

I am a massive boxing fan. It is my passion. There is no way that McGregor will win this fight. I think it is very poor from Mayweather that for his 50th fight he takes on an MMA fighter with a 0-0 boxing record.

Mayweather has a granite chin and despite his lack of finishes (which I attribute to his defensive first style) he carries power with his shots.

Mayweather may choose to let McGregor survive to make it look respectable.

McGregor once said that he needs someone with size and attributes to give him trouble. Mayweather lacks the size but is infinitely more superior skilled than McGregor.

Will McGregor land more than 10 punches?

As for McGregor. He has a what, 8 week fight camp? I thought he was going to take a year off preparing his boxing skills for this fight. Instead he has an 8-10 week fight camp. He is playing around with the movement guy and his MMA coach is still his head coach. Also given the fact that McGregor has been instagramming his wild party antics, his focus has not been on boxing.

I think McGregor is underskilled and terribly prepared.

I look forward to his next MMA fight.

    1. I've seen this a lot from boxing fans. Why would Floyd "choose to let McGregor survive" 12 rounds? Why would he want it to "look respectable"? By "respectable" you mean respectable for Conor because it certainly isn't respectable for Floyd or for boxing if our UFC lightweight champion strolls in to a boxing ring, lasts 12 rounds and possibly outlands what Berto, Manny or Canelo landed.

I've heard a few conspiracy theories alright as to why Floyd would do this but none of them make sense.

It looks to me like people are getting their excuses in early just in case Conor performs well and takes it the distance. They'd much rather say "Floyd chose to let him survive" than to actually give Conor any credit for the performance.

    2. Yes. He'll land 10 punches... in the first round.

    3. He's been preparing for this fight against Floyd physically and mentally for 2 years. If you're talking specific boxing training, Owen Roddy said discussions on Floyd's style and shots have been ongoing since November.

Really though, it goes back far longer than that. Conor has been studying Floyd and being influenced by Floyd (especially the shoulder roll) for years.

As for Ido Portal, he is a movement coach. He might have had Conor for 2 hours in the entire week this week doing a few movement drills to loosen him up. Conor won't win or lose because of Sensei Portal.
