FFS.. people dead, lots missing, and panic in Manchester and yet we have the same old nonsense on boards.ie with elements from "both sides" trying to score points against the other!

RIP to the victims here... whatever turns out to be the cause.

Sky news are horrible at reporing issies like this... talking live to witnesses at the seen.

How many explosions did you hear? (Fair question)
And where was the explosion? (Fair question)

Oh the ticket hall and after the explosion there did you have to walk through there?... ie did you see guts and dead people and tell me if you did...

No that's you you twisting it.

I don't like Sky and their coverage but I think it's a fair question in this case.

Slate me for posting this but there's a few politicians who have blood on their hands tonight by supporting/endorsing certain manifestos. Not all countries have to go to war but some countries obviously choose to go to war because they think it's the done thing. Whether it's ISIS it's not known yet but it's obviously some organisation that may want to teach the UK a lesson.

It has nothing to do with the UK or its policies!

These people hate the western way of life and will do anything to destroy or disrupt it.

Country does not matter. ALL western countries are at risk, Ireland included.

So you think it still might be the balloons ?

Who gives a flying fcuk if it was balloons, a gas explosion or a terrorist attack?

Many people are dead and the chances are most of them were teenage girls.

Can you not save the political point-scoring for another day ffs? If it was an Islamic Terrorist you'll have plenty of time to slate Islam later.

    Where did you see that?

Following the main thread on reddit, plus the live feed. Definitely some scepticism to be had as some false reports, such as the gunman outside Oldham Hospital, have been fake.

Can both sides of the potential terrorist attack debate give it a rest, please? There is no point arguing and all concerns should be directed towards the victims and their poor families.

    Some questions yes.

The only point of asking someone if they had to walk through the site of the explosion is to get details on the damage /carnage caused

Any news on the number of casualties and fatalities? Was driving through Munster after a removal and news stations just had "we can report fatalities" with no indication of numbers.

If it is terrorism, it just adds to the massive increase in attacks over the past 2 years. It's getting worse.

At what point does it have to get to, to realise that letting in all these people has been the most idiotic thing Europe has ever done. It's not working, and it will never work. Multiculturalism is self destructive when people don't want to integrate. Western values just aren't compatible.

People will still defend the indefensible and spineless politically correct politicians who bent over backwards to accommodate these tragedies. Sadly I fear the seed has already been set.

Also WTF is with the people saying they suspect people of wishing it was Islam, people are dying, f?ck you and your stupid leftist values.

Edit: Fox reporting British police are reporting it as terrorism.

What is your problem? I mean that really and truly? There must be something seriously wrong with you to push your agenda and your sh1te in a thread that involves poor children being killed.

Why don't you go f*ck off and just go away. You're a parasite. You're nothing more than that. I couldn't give a toss about if this gets me banned or not. I'm attacking you, not the post. You're a parasite and a leech and nothing but an absolute and unabated abscess of a c*nt.

I most wholeheartedly second this sentiment.

Interesting point re the first aid - it should probably be more widely taught. I grew up during quite an active period of the IRA (and of course the unionist side of things but where I lived it would have been an IRA attack) and it was the little things that have now 'returned to normal' that probably need to change again.

I remember not being allowed to put boxes under the tree in a shop I worked in as it would have been too easy to hide something there. Public bins being a rarity and absolutely non-existent at train-stations. Old cars always raised suspicions, unattended bags etc. It's weird the steps that have to be taken but wider awareness and first aid are certainly something that needs to be done.

Anyone else find it weird how little information is coming out about this? As in, how big a blast was it, how many were injured / killed, are the rest of the patrons being safely evacuated, etc

Usually it doesn't take this long for a clear picture to emerge, makes one wonder what the hell is going on in there.

No not at all considering what appears to have happened. The bataclan attack, the truck attacks are very different to this and much easier to confirm when you've videos instantly online of people being shot and mown down.

This was a bomb and so happened in a split second and was over. Much more difficult to get a grasp of what happened. Cctv must be analysed etc. You can imagine it takes time. It sounds like it happened in a foyer or an exit point. There isn't exactly a news camera watching like at the end of a marathon race.

It shows the age we live in when people expect stuff like this to be confirmed within an hour.

if in 2017 you dont think islamic terrorist attack immediately after hearing about something like this then congrats and hi 5 you're a wonderful person.

if you then log on to a message board in order to upbraid others based on your own undoubted moral superiority then i rescind that hi 5.

if/when it is confirmed as an islamic terrorist attack you will of course be chalking another loss up to your 'called it wrong on the internet' account and will no doubt be humbler in future, right?

if you have accused someone who does think that it is very likely to have been an islamic terrorist attack of wishing for it to be so, or taking glee in it, you are in fact an awful person. you should never receive a hi 5 again.

if on the other hand you do think islamic terrorist attack and think "what a wonderful opportunity to log on to boards and behave exactly like an islamic terrorist would hope for" then you also dont get any hi 5

twenty plus people dead and many more injured. insofar as there is any point to posting to a message board after this it surely has to be more than the usual poles of 'lets not offend any terrorists' vs 'i told you so theyre all savages' lads.

surely we can all be better than that?
