We are moving towards a very bad future for Europe as well unless some action is taken soon.

    Unfortunately true.

The issue as you know is very tied in with partisan politics.

But really, surely a time comes for re-assessment.

Can we ask where the line is. And what practical steps need to be taken.

Without the subject becoming a play thing.

Let's take the Christians, en masse.

why. just because they are christian doesn't mean they share the same values as us going on your logic.

Let adjacent Islamic countries absorb the Islamic refugees.

why. they aren't exactly much better then what those people are fleeing.

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

You cannot legislate away the brain dead. There's brain dead Whites, brain dead Blacks, brain dead Catholics, brain dead Protestants, brain dead Muslims. The brain dead are always easily seduced to "hate them over there!" by sweet talkers who profess to have "all the answers". "Whitey robbed you of your life - he's killing your kids, what you gonna do boy?" Brain dead boy goes off to do harm.. If people want someone to blame, blame the Clay Davis types behind the scenes. They're the real problem.

    Its true.

Maybe its time to start recording sermons.

If I was a legit preacher, doing no harm, and wanted to disassociate myself from extremists I'd welcome more clarity.

All religions should come with a very large asterix to the effect that what is preached may or may not be true and we cannot know for sure if what is preached is the word of god or a prophet. And all preachers should be made to add this qualification to their preaching, otherwise they should be prevented from preaching. There are too many brainwashed nutcases out there, and the preachers are ultimately to blame.

The vast majority of displaced people from the Middle East are housed in the Middle East. Turkey being the largest host.

I notice that Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAR don't feature on that list.

    http://www.opensourceinvestigations.com/syria/gulf-states-response-to-syrian-refugee-crisis-a-myth-debunked/

"And for that there is a logical explanation. Western media miscount the Syrian refugees because the primary data source, The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, does not count the refugees within the Gulf States. These states are not signatories to the Refugee Convention, their refugee relocations are not handled by the UNHCR."

"There are 2 million to 3 million Syrians in the Gulf countries, many of whom arrived since the war began, but they are not considered refugees and they are not part of the UNHCR statistics. They are classified as “Arab brothers and sisters in distress” instead of refugees covered by UN treaties. Even though, according to UNHCR officials, only in Saudi Arabia, there were 500,000 Syrian refugees in September 2015."

They are not called refugees in the Gulf States. As those states only recognise the 51 definition of the UN convention. That is persons made refugees before 1951. So they are called “Arab brothers and sisters in distress”

Germany took in about 1 million refugees in 2016 alone. I see the above refers to early 2015.

Bear in mind that these countries with the possible exception of SA and UAE whose numbers are a bit iffy, were taking in refugees from a much earlier point and in much greater numbers than Europe. It is more "fair" to compare the heights of migration rather than a snapshot view (although 2015 isn't exactly a long time ago!). A fifth of Lebanon's population currently appears to be Syrian nationals. That is a hell of a high percentage (mostly because Lebanon itself is quite small).

The numbers quoted are declared refugees according to UN. The German figures are people who arrived and claimed asylum.

Numbers in Germany this year are dropping.
