I wouldn't say that. I think most right thinking people would look for the truth and not try and cover up for islamist terror groups.

I think most right-thinking people are too concerned with the fact that children have almost certainly been killed to use it as a political football, tbh.

Im merely responding to posts saying that reports say 20 are dead.

No reports yet in any legit news sites re the number of fatalities.

NBC are reporting at least 20 fatalities but UK news sources haven't yet mentioned this.

Ridiculous that anyone can post what they want o Twitter and the news reports it like a fact.

The co-founder of Twitter said this week that he feels the internet is broken.

    Pointing to things like this.

Absolutely no consequences for people spreading fake news, rumours, conspiracy theories and stating they are facts.

This may very well turn out to be terrorism.

But it helps nobody to immediately state it as fact when it's just guesswork and people with an agenda.

Was at the AG concert in Dublin Last week with my teenager. Full of teens and their reluctant parents. Feel very sick tonight.

The protocols that have been enacted are the protocols for a terrorist incident

Are you just gonna keep posting that? And how are you so familiar with these protocols?

Some of the posters here are so bizarre. "Nothing to see here"
    "Hope everything turns out ok"
    "Could be balloons"

There isn't even a need to call a spade a spade here. When an explosion occurs in a confined area crowded with people as they egress an arena, one really shouldn't clutch at straws in this day and age.

Spare a thought for the victims, their families, the first responders now putting their lives on the line! The bravery of everyone working together in Manchester tonight. The great taxi drivers getting people home safe amidst terror.

Channel your energies towards supporting people tonight instead of disrespectfully denying what just happened!

Report from a journalist that 23 currently dead, half under 18, he has a proven track record, not that that makes him correct.

I don't think they are. It's called being realistic. I mean, blaming balloons and speakers rather than considering the possibility it was a deliberate act is bizarre

I think if it was not a terrorist attack then it would have been called by now if only to allay ppl's fears.

I think the assumption that anyone is "happy" this attack happened is actually disgusting. I'm sorry but stfu. Nobody here is happy it happened, stop saying anyone is happy, children are likely dead, it's actually sick.

I think they are being a bit more reserved to make sure there isnt a panic on people trying to get down to the arena. The News Companies have Terror Protocols from the police to try and follow.

yeh so much compassion but only when it looks likely to have been an ISIS attack

If there was concrete info right now that this was a gas explosion/pyrotecnics gone wrong this thread would be dead and buried before breakfast

Anyone else find it weird how little information is coming out about this? As in, how big a blast was it, how many were injured / killed, are the rest of the patrons being safely evacuated, etc

Usually it doesn't take this long for a clear picture to emerge, makes one wonder what the hell is going on in there.

Slate me for posting this but there's a few politicians who have blood on their hands tonight by supporting/endorsing certain manifestos. Not all countries have to go to war but some countries obviously choose to go to war because they think it's the done thing. Whether it's ISIS it's not known yet but it's obviously some organisation that may want to teach the UK a lesson.

NHS sources saying it was a nail gun. Nothing fully confirmed as of yet, but if the sources are credible then injuries they're seeing might be consistent with it.

I wouldn't expect to hear anything concrete until they've dealt with the immediate situation and cleared the area, what ever the cause is.

Looks like it could be a pressure cooker bomb according to this tweet.

Jesus that is terrible, she looks in an awful state and the people don't seem to know what to do or how to stop the bleeding.

Does anyone know what the right thing would be to do in this situation? like how can you stop the bleeding

I find it a bit strange that no definitive details have been released yet and it happened two hours or so ago.

I think you are being a bit unfair.

Regardless of the cause the loss of life is horrendous.

I think most people are praying its not a deliberate act at this point.

Whether people are "happy" or not that it happened, there is an inescapable feeling that they hope that it was carried out by a fellow human being.

Reports would have come in "explosion, public area, number of casualties", terrorism response plan would be normal enough response, doesn't mean it was terrorism. In the first few minutes when facts are scarce, the police don't sit and wait to get all the facts, they plan for the worst.
