Hang on, wasn't the rally set up because a confirmed new-nazi in Richard Spencer wasn't allowed hold a rally of his own? I mean if you're turning up at a rallly to support a new-nazi and all the people there on your side are throwing up nazi salutes, well I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're a nazi.

it was a pro free speech rally...and it was far from all the people there throwing out salutes. don't get me wrong spencer is a nut but if he wants to talk let him talk...far easier way of stopping his movement than using violence to shut him up

One of the interesting thing about white supremacism in the US is that it's often largely anti-imperalistic. The problem in the world today isn't white supremacism, but American supremacism.

I didn't notice anti-fa oppose American imperialism during Obama's reign, and they tend to focus on internal US issues rather than America's increasingly sociopathic actions on the world stage.

Funnily enough I think your onto something there, in the sense that it was Soviet troops that liberated Auschwitz, basically a marginally better regime with fewer camps and more staying power that would tell you they were liberating you while they were beating the crap out of you. I mean if that's not "AntiFa" in a nutshell I don't know what is.

On a slightly more serious note, I don't think you can equate the millions of men and women who sacrificed life and limb in the defence of their countries and ultimately the defeat of the Nazi regime, with a collection of weekend activists beating the crap out of anyone they dub a Nazi.

To to be fair this is the next logical step if you hang around with militants long enough. You have to remember that these people are locked in to an ideology - an admittedly stupid one, but they look young to me - and within that bubble they likely do believe there is some confrontation coming up. All cults have this doomsday aspect to it. I think they are being ultra-foolish because (a) there is no fascism really to confront (in our normal common sense manner of not believing everything "right" is fascist) and (b) if something happens they could end up in a seriously bad situation, whether legal, violent or just plain embarassing.
I kind of just want their parents to see it and go, em, son, back to studying please.

You do know that these events have been set up as a response to Antifa being violent and not the other way around? They don't get to play the victim when they were the ones who brought violence to the table in the first place.

While punching a girl is utterly reprehensible, its not fascism, quick note for the future, before you become violently anti-something, learn what that something actually is!
