I actually do think she's properly qualified. She was doing freelance for years before going to Inglot.

    From Grace's LinkedIn

I think what happened at the Gossies and her lack of transparency has put a bad taste in mouths of the brands she worked with.

Yeah I defo knew she was ITEC qualified

I believe she didn't stay at inglot because her skills didn't match what they were looking for.

I saw a segment she did for xpose where she was on promoting inglot. I'm not surprised she didn't last as the make over she did was hideous. My 70 year old mother even asked me had I seen the episode as even she couldn't get over it.

Haven't heard her promote / mention Inglot since actually!

Some of the make up she does is nice! I'm not getting at her skills, just her mentioning Inglot nowadays.

I never saw that episode. I did hear a lot of negative feedback though ..
there was a lot of inglot promoting when she worked there .. since she left I haven't seen anything makes me wonder if she actually even liked the products.

I thought she left Inglot as she was pregnant and decided to give blogging a try full time. I know style is subjective but i cant say I'm a fan of her make up. It never looks 100% professional, quite amateur, so her recommending products doesn't entice me to buy them even if she did use #ad...which she never does. She actually puts me off using companies. I'm a fan of The Balm but I'd go to Debenhams rather than Meaghers given their refusal to ensure their reps are fully disclosing things.

JJ literally directed people to her blog instead of telling people where her dress was from, twice. Like the amount of effort it takes to make a snap just to say look at the blog. Just say it.

I noticed that again this eve, people are going to cop on to it fairly fast, it takes literally 2 seconds to say 'I got my dress from so and so....'

I also noticed her saying again how shes been working hard the last 7 days!! Tbh I wouldn't call getting dolled up and going to events for approx 2 hrs hard work...

I don't think Grace is an MUA blogger anymore though, she's more lifestyle I would think?

I wouldn't imagine she left due to being pregnant .. I won't use any company she is associated with at all .. I pass meaghers a lot but wouldn't step foot in it with all the promoting grace does ..

I think Grace may have left Inglot as at the time she was regarded as a beauty blogger, and snapchatting/blogging/promoting other cosmetic brands would have been against the social media policy of the brand she was working for....and I suppose she thought why not make a go of full time blogging?

In regards to JJ, there's very interesting action on her twitter atm, ASAI are being tagged in the posts and everything😂

I just read it. JJ really dismisses anything she doesn't like as nonsense and believes that'll be enough for people to leave things be. Does she not realise people have a brain and can see through her crap? I really hope the Asai request a copy of her receipt from Moores as JJ claims there were no freebies or payment. It'd be an ideal test case for them to scare other bloggers into line. I think that's the only way they may comply. If anyone was to get fined it wouldn't take long for word to spread. They all are interconnect in the blogging world

She has said before she doesn't like people coming up to her when she's at work, which is fair enough.

She was serving me at the time.

I'm pretty sure no employer would be overly enthusiastic if mooneyed girls would keep on hanging around where you work because they follow your hobby. Work is work, it's wrong if she was rude to customers but otherwise there should be boundaries.

She was actually serving me at the time and I just said oh I'm a follower. I wasn't moon eyed and o wasn't hanging around her work to follow her - get real! I was buying makeup as it's MY interest.

If I worked in architecture and publicised myself to thousands and was promoting it and clients came in and mentioned they followed me it would be beyond hypocritical to be rude to them.

So JJ video for the ring was an ad! She just admitted it on Twitter. I haven't seen any #ad in her posts about it.

That's appalling. I'm not on Twitter. Absolutely appalling.

Offtopic postings closed this thread a few days.
People are not sticking to the topic and pretty openly getting digs in at bloggers. That's for the pub, not an internet forum where you get to be anonymous while the bloggers are named.

I got blocked by JJ the other day for LIKING somebody elses post on Twitter asking weather the eternity ring was ad or not! She did write back to the girl saying yes it was an #ad but for some reason deleted it after. I have reported her to the ASAI and received a letter yesterday saying it was being investigated. She's unbelievable, blocks you for liking a post...

I got blocked on her snapchat for asking her to stop using the mouse filter as I found it difficult to hear what she was saying. Especially when she was talking about products. Very immature and pathetic behavior.

Thats very immature of her. We all need to start reporting to ASAI. It's the only way that these issues are going to get sorted. I've reported a few people, I haven't had a letter back yet tho. I reported rosanna for her Lidl snaps with no ad maybe because there no longer available maybe I won't hear anything back?

That was my first time reporting anyone but she really annoyed me with her carry on. Just delete and block and sure I don't need to explain myself to anyone! Reporting is very easy and straightforward on the ASAI website. I think everyone should definitely start using it when they see these bloggers/influencers not adhering to the rules. They will soon start listening to the public.

Good to see Tara Makeup using #ad yesterday for her snaps at the Penneys event/workshop yesterday.

That is crazy carry on. Can't believe she admitted it was an ad and then deleted her comment!

You may still be able to see the conversation on JJ Twitter page. It was a girl called Kate who asked her about it. You could see the replies back and forth between them and noticeably the one where she admits it is missing. It might all be be deleted by now. Raging I didn't get a screenshot of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭scarbouro

Here's some of the conversation where you can see there's a reply from JJ deleted in between the tweets. The girl says " so it is an ad then??" After JJ replied to her admitting it was an ad. Don't know why she deleted it afterwards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 957 ✭✭✭MuffinTop86

The @ASAI in that probably annoyed her so.
It's amazing how your opinion of someone can change overnight.
Surely it takes less effort to be wholly upfront than to then have to go answering questions about whether its an ad and deleting it.
Why bother trying to deceive people?

It's hard to tell from that screenshot that JJ deleted a tweet. Has anyone got the screenshot of the deleted tweet where she confirms it's an ad?

I agree, twelve to six months ago I would have said it was lack of information and that there was no intentional attempt to deceive people. However there is no excuse for that now, especially if the influencer is with an agency. Take a look at the list of influencers on an agency like Andrea Roches model agency website and check out the Influencers section, it's an eye opener! I follow a few of them but there are some there that do not use #ad. I won't post the link here but it's easy to find if you google it.

I think Just Jordan deleted all her replies to Kate, so can only see one side of the conversation.
I'm not great at twitter though so maybe the replies are there somewhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭scarbouro

I seen JJ's reply before she deleted it. She said "yes it's an #ad" and then the girl replied back to her.I wasn't quick enough to get screenshot as the next time I went into the conversation I was blocked.

I'm fairly sure she tweeted fairly quickly to say the original tweet was a typo and that it should have said 'NOT' an ad, but all the tweets are gone now so I can't double check.
