Take a deep breath and count to 10.

It's an odd one to go off on. Like I said, I know nobody like Goodell. I don't like Goodell either. I get Pats fans hate Goodell. But this just seems like a desperate reach to find a reason to be offended. But maybe you can explain to me what is so awful about him going to two Falcons games and saying if the Pats invite him back to a game in future, he will go there? Maybe he got invited to both games, or even all four the week before, and decided to go to the NFC matches featuring two favourites, of which the home team have not been to the playoffs much (in their stadiums' final year) compared to the Patriots? Maybe it was not wanting to be the villain - either for his own sake, or for taking attention away from the game (e.g. the product he is largely responsible for the 'selling' of). Who knows?

But ultimately, to rephrase 'who cares' so as not to upset your sensibilities - why does it matter to you?

The fact you told me to take a deep breath is hilarious. Not even going to bother with the rest of it. Have a good one. Hilarious at best.

Sure buddy that is it you figured me out

I feel there needs to be a twist where Goodell is secretly a Pats fan and did the entire deflate gate stuff as a way to inspire Brady to higher heights.

No I don't believe it but it is fun to imagine.

Pretty much, I didn't get why you were so irate over Goodell's comment and you completely lost the plot over it. Twice. Without a response in between.

I then later saw why and noted that I had missed the first part of the statement, which was not in your post... and you completely lose the plot again about me having "figured you out".

I mean there's being defense, and then there's whatever the hell that was??

Irate? Lost the plot? Serious question do you honestly think I was sitting there losing the plot? If you really think that then I have nothing I can say more but laugh at you. I love when people assume I am angry or my posting style. I was in fact in work and happy for the record but hey keep assuming.
I then later saw why and noted that I had missed the first part of the statement, which was not in your post... and you completely lose the plot again about me having "figured you out".

Again with the lose the plot nonsense can't make this stuff up. Hilarious at best.
I mean there's being defense, and then there's whatever the hell that was??

What are you banging on about? You clearly created a scenario in your own head that clearly isn't true. I gave my opinion of what goodell said and I think the guy is an absolute fooking clown but irate and losing the plot? haha Brilliant stuff.

Simple fact here you don't know me and never have I ever "Lost the Plot" or "Got Irate" on this board even though people think I do a lot. Its hilarious at best. I met a couple of guy on here in the past and they thought I was one angry individual but that is what happens when you assume and read far too much into peoples writing style. So many internet psychiatrists these days. Anyways you keep believing what you want chief.

Im off to lose the plot and smash up the place

Forgot this is the interwebs you need smiley face or memes to prove one aint mad:

Right, so you're not upset, grand so and all's taken care of. :)

By the way my post about missing itssoeasy's was to smooth things over as I had missed the deflategate stuff, nothing to do with "figuring you out", just to be clear.

So let's leave it there. Goodell went to two Falcons games this year.

It's not everybody's cup of tea but I highly recommend people read Barstool Sports* or listen to the Pardon My Take podcast, No1 podcast in the Sports category. I've been reading it for years now when it was just a couple of bros blogging from their bedrooms to last year when they were bought by a major media outlet. Its a break from the talking heads who have hot takes for the sake of getting views and basically just troll their audience or the nerd journalists who have never played a sport in their life thinking they know more than the coaches they write about. They parody all that nonsense.

As they have become more mainstream (they now have a show on Comedy Central) they have been making national news this week as the NFL has banned them from attending all NFL events and recently Rodger Goodell pretended not to know who they are (last year they were banned too but very few people knew who they were).Rodger pretending not to know about them is hilarious as they just took a player in his prime from your league. Although to be fair, El Pres the founder of Barstool during his epic Deflategate coverage did threaten to murder Rodger multiple times, shouted "Hitler" at him as he walked into the court room and staged a sit-in at NFL HQ, so there is a little merit to the ban.

Pat McAfee is a great addition to Barstool. He's appeared on there multiple times over the past year or so and hes very funny but also a very likable, down to earth dude. Can't wait to see what he brings to Barstool. THis interview at year's Super Bowl was great and I think it was his first appearance on Barstool:

*just be warned there is a lot of pro Pats bloggers on the site, as its originally a Boston newspaper, not to mention the Pats being in the Super Bowl this week, its a fever pitch but there are tons of other cities represented.

Yeah they're a refreshing bunch, were bought by a big media outlet but have obviously been told to not change who they are.

Some smaller site wrote a takedown piece on them a while back and they openly opposed it and posted various DM's the editor of that site had sent them. Fast forward to a few days ago and that site had its deal with sports illustrated cut out. Barstool openly celebrated this - all on the back of one or two articles.

The Cauldron's piece was such garbage, they took one or two "offensive" jokes Barstool made over a 10 year period as a reason to thrash them just as a rouse so that their website could get attention all while their Editor was trying to DM Barstool trying to remain buddy buddy with them. Exactly with is wrong with the media, just writing stories that they don't really believe in just because they think it will get them clicks.

After they were bought it was a worry that they would change and have to tone it down but luckily they haven't at all and with the financial backing they have been able relocate everybody to one location and make some great hires like Pat McAfee, Asa Akira and especially PFTCommenter. The greatest thing about Barstool is that they just talk like your friends do, sometimes they'll be funny, sometimes they'll be they'll be biased, sometimes they'll be offensive, etc but because they are real (although they can be a little exaggerated at times) , readers feel connected to the website and the characters. Like how Pres goes off on how much of a scumbag he thinks Goodell is, is how most people in New England feel about Goodell but there is no media outlet out there other than Barstool that would dare publish it.

Yeah, I must admit that I dislike how chippy he can be when one of the others disagrees with him. He expects a lot of respect for his own opinions, without reciprocating.

Not the best interview, but I think any interview with Gilroy's long-winded questions can be difficult for interviewees.

I dont like him for this reason. I always find he can't see past his own opinion and even when he gets something wrong he tends to try and stick to it. What is weird when I first listened to him I thought he was alright but over time he got annoying. His twitter went the same way.

I prefer Mark Sessler but I like Chris Wesseling. They said a few weeks back that they're all basically playing caricatures of themselves on that show so I wouldn't take anything any of them says that seriously.

I have a link to the full 30 for 30 documentary on the XFL if anyone wants to PM me. I won't post it in the open as it was posted on a private Patriots subreddit I use so I don't want it to be taken down. Trailer below for those that haven't seen it:

Delighted to see Taylor and Andersen get in, personally not at all a fan of the T.D. pick though - he may have been phenomenal, but he only had 3 seasons at that level, plus one pretty good one. And while this may be unfair, it is also well known how Shanahan in Denver was able to get quality yardage out of just about anyone for a few years there it seemed. The two yeards TD essentially missed from injury for example, they got 1,100 yards out of Olandis Gary, then a 1,500/15 TD season from Mike Anderson in 2001. Then the following year drafted Portis who had 3,100 yards and 29 TDs on the ground in his first two seasons at 5.5 per carry (TD's highest ever was 5.1) before the Redskins threw Champ Bailey and a high second round pick at them for him. Portis had a good career after, but never looked as impressive as those first two years in Denver.

TD was before my time (retired the season I started watching) and I'm sure he was incredible, but for me it's just too small a sample size and the people who took over both during his injuries and immediately after his retirement did so well in that scheme that I can't see the justification personally.

Billy. Quality over quantity. Terrell Davis had a short career but it was good years.

In my massively biased opinion he was better than any of the players that got in even LT I understand it's difficult to get in as a safety but in my (again massively biased) opinion he's the second greatest player I have seen play his position (and it could be argued that reed was a fs and dawk a ss)

And to boot Jerry ****ing jones got in ....Jerry jones that fired jimmy johnson and arguably undermined the ebtire organisations ability to win since (to the point where there has been instant improvement since his sons taken over) and a ****ing kicker

Totally agree, Nerd. Dawkins' name is synonymous with the safety position as well. He absolutely should have got in.

Nerd as a giants guy thought you'd be happy ole Jethro funked things up in big D for as long as he has.

With him and Johnston people need to remember Jimmy was just as much off a meglamaniac and he walked away because he felt he never got the praise he felt he deserved despite Jerry giving him everything he wanted and then some.. there was a pair of them in it.

But free agency also screwed us as we lost several players outside the triplets and appointed a new coach that wasn't as much a disciplinarian as Johnston. And things unraveled.

I believe Jones has done a lot for the league in terms of commercial deals, collective bargaining and that's why he got in.
