For the last (honestly) time: you only have to #ad if something is paid for. Do you really think Niamh @ Nima's FRIEND is paying her to talk about her product? Do you think Marissa has been PAID by TRNDBeauty to talk about their site? Or do you think it could just be that they're doing it as a favour – maybe because, in the former case, they're friends and, in the latter case, because TB is giving items for Marissa's Masterclass?

This is such BS – people don't have to put #ad or #sp or #spon if they haven't been paid by a brand. They just don't. And if people start hashtagging stuff they haven't been paid for, we're back to square one where nobody knows if anyone's being honest or disclosing commercial partnerships!

    on the mitch,

I can see your frustrated by people bringing up the #ad thing when people haven't been paid. Fair enough. However, Does it bother you when we speak about the fact you went to an event the other day and people you were with who were paid didn't #ad ? Thats been a bigger issue here the last few days then friends helping friends.

I have more of a problem with that then I do with friends helping out friends etc. Thats just me though.

No, it doesn't bother me at all – why would it? When people point out that people who were paid for things aren't using #ad, they're totally right – it's just nothing to do with me what specific other people do.

I've been trying really hard lately to "stay in my own lane", so to speak – to focus on what I'm doing, and try to do everything right and above board, and produce good content and work hard, and sure I'm aware of what's going on but I can only do what I can do myself, if you get me!

Obviously I read this thread, because I can't help myself, but I try really hard not to comment unless it's something directly related to me that I want to clear up (or, as with the above, I get frustrated by something that's being said in error over and over again!) :)

You're right to stay in your own lane. You're blog is getting better and better, so it's obviously working for you. Thanks again.

How is it staying in your own lane when you:
-berate bloggers for saying they don't want any negativity, even if it's constructive.
-post a deleted video of a blogger badmouthing another one (for the draw-ma lols)
-give out about (and give the name of someone else giving out about) people who say #girlboss. Bloggers say that.

I'm sure there's more cause that covers only the last few days. But that's enough hypocrisy for one day.

What it boils down to is readers/followers wanting honesty. Plugging stuff for a friend? I'd do it for my friends wouldn't you?
In this case not an ad..
In reviewing products/services #ad so we know where we stand.
I think this thread is just becoming another give out any way possible about bloggers

I never said I wasn't full of contradictions!

The way I see it, there's a big difference between commenting on the actions of a specific person and making a commentary about certain trends within a specific industry (an industry I happen to be a part of). I'm sorry if that makes me a hypocrite but, essentially – I'll happily talk about the good and the bad of blogging, but I won't talk about the good and the bad of bloggers.

Oh it was – you mustn't have understood my pot kettle reference. It's a really common phrase but maybe a bit outdated – it essentially means that the gripe you have with me could be said about you too! Hope that clears it up.

As an aside, you seem to have a genuine hatred for all but about 3 bloggers. I really wish I knew your handle so I could block you from all social media bc all I seem to do is irritate you and I honestly think your life would be better if you spent less time thinking about me or any of the other 100 bloggers you detest.

Christ! Actually I don't hate any blogger, yourself included. Why the hell would I? Do they annoy me at times? Of course! Esp when they don't disclose ads which is what this thread is about. My life would be better if I stopped thinking about you? Girl, I don't think about you at all. And you don't need to block me from anything because I don't follow you on anything anymore.
Maybe your life would be a lot better if you stopped reading this thread?
Have to say your little outburst was quite amusing. After all it is coming from the blogger who criticised other bloggers for not being able to handle negativity. Pot, kettle.

How do you know anything about her being passive aggressive if you don't follow her?

Tbh I don't care about negativity per se, I just find it frustrating that any time I come on to these threads to give my 2 cents (as someone who actually abides by these codes and is in the industry being discussed) you try to drag me down about something totally unrelated. Like: my cleaner? My "passive aggression"? You know a lot about me considering you never think about me and don't follow me!

It's all totally off topic and ridiculous, but I still feel like I should get to defend myself. Just as I'd encourage bloggers to engage with their "haters" (not referring to you here just generally!) rather than ignoring / blocking them.

I don't follow you anymore, I used to follow you and you used to be one of my favourites. Also, I notice you only picked up on my comment about the passive aggression and not the poster above me who was directing their post to you? Why? You've done that before here too. Someone asks you something, i add something to it and you only take issue with my part. Seems like you're the one who has an issue with me tbh.

It's in Muffintops post. You know, the post onthemitch ignored which was actually directed at her.

I'd say that's something to do with you always jumping on the bandwagon to criticise her anytime anyone says something negative about her.

Like you jump on the bandwagon to defend every action of any blogger that someone has an issue with. Why involve yourself here and lambast me for doing the same?!

Yeh Anouska is particularly bad for not disclosing. She started off on boards in the Fashion forum years and years ago.

I don't know why she has a following. She's not funny and asking for companies to work with her for her wedding is pathetic.

And it's so stupid to think that ASAI won't see it. For example: Amrezy's snaps last night. People took videos of them. It's really easy to do. So thinking that it's gone in 24hours really isn't the case anymore.

The point it is free advertising friends or no friends.
The fact they are promoting friends to be is worse than being paid because you don't even know if they have faith in these products or they are just promoting for a friend .
Not everyone knows these companies are their friends so some people think they genuinely like the product
As for Marissa she's promoting all
Sorts lately that other bloggers #ad and she's not.
She also gave out false information about trend being the only company selling that brand in Ireland.
She was corrected and chose not to tell her followers.
People are wary of bloggers because of their behaviour not ours instead of getting irritated by our suspicions speak out about your fellow not being transparent affecting all the other genuine social influencers.

The people you have to blame for all these threads are the ones you should be irritated with for the last two years faced by grace, Rosie con, the make up fairy, Suzanne Jackson and pippa have been constantly plugging brands.
They still are from carpets and television which in turn is making people suspicious of all of you.
TBH you are the most honest and I don't see why you are on these threads defending them.
When you were on previous threads explaining yourself while people had a go at you not one of them other bloggers intervened to defend you.

Regardless of what YOU think is advertising, the law is clear: you only have to disclose when it's paid for.

As for the second part, I'm (clearly!) more than happy to defend myself so I'm not mad at it – maybe they just have more going on in their lives than I do! :)

Is it cash money only though? Like for example can a blogger be paid to talk about teeth whitening and be 'paid' with treatments?
And if it's not cash only, and say it was the person who was promoting their friend. (I don't follow them so just going by what's said here.) if the friend with the business goes thanks for that here's a few products for yourself, do they then have to go back and write ad on anything they said or declare it as income?

Anyway I know you're busy this eve and I wasn't being rude or passive aggressive in my last post, I just pick up on things I'm curious about or disagree with for the few I follow.
