I think that's very true. Even in terms of popularity – people don't read blogs half as much any more, as they get their content from social media more than from blogs. I know one of the big gripes is that bloggers don't *actually* blog any more – but, when you get 15,000 people watching your snaps and only 4,000 a day on average reading your blog... sometimes it makes more sense to push your content out through Snapchat, if that makes sense!

Oh absolutely and I can understand that you have to go where the people will follow, I think podcasts would be awesome btw! I for one miss blogging, but then I think blogging in the sense that I'm referring to is actually very hard to master! It does depend on what your looking for and where your interests are too. I follow different people for different content, for instance I love your opinion pieces and occasional rants!

Ultimately, though, I don't think blogging is "dying"; I always tell people that I'm aiming to be doing this – creating content – for years, whether that's on my blog, in video form, maybe a podcast... So it's about figuring out how to reach out to people in the most effective way. For some people, that will definitely be by turning yourself into a "brand".

I just find that the content can be very repetitive these days. I think it starts to lose it's authenticity when 14 people are all promoting the same brand on snapchat, I have absolutely no problem however with bloggers making money to survive, of course they HAVE TO! I think certain bloggers just veered away from what initially made them popular and delved into new genres merely to go with the flow. I still follow yourself, rosie, the MUF, Just J and few others but my list is shortening as time goes on!

I was going to say I think Rosemary slagging bloggers or SJ in particular is down to them actually knowing each other and being friendly. Which i actually think is nice. We always imagine bloggers are all in competition with each other.

I think they are friendly and it's great. I thought with the majority based around Dublin that egos or general competition for brands would cause rivalry but the fact that they send each other their products and give each other mentions is refreshing. Though it seems MUF is the only one who didn't send out any brushes.

Though it seems MUF is the only one who didn't send out any brushes.

I wouldn't be a fan of the MUF as she's not my style but Joanne Larby went up in my estimation by choosing not to send them out the the whole world and it's mother and then for viewers getting it shoved down out throat by everyone promoting the products over the space of a short time period. She's letting the brushes and case speak for themselves which is refreshing. Pippa & SJ have sent their products to loads and of course they get glowing reviews - as has been said the market is saturated with 'bloggers' and as the group of bloggers is small enough they aren't going to bad mouth each other to avoid any tension for future events etc

I know there was the issue with MUF and CWTH but we'll call that a learning curve for Joanne :D

Is it possible that fairy blogger didn't want to part with such expensive brushes by sending them to bloggers? Her product is quite pricey in comparison to other bloggers products and in my opinion, this blogger always seems to be frugal enough when it comes to money and what she gives away, eg, some of the give away competitions are embarrassing they are so poor/so little at times.

Pure speculation. I'm no fan of hers by any means and correct me if I'm wrong, but no one is obliged to give away stuff so I don't think it's fair to say that she doesn't give away good stuff.

You're right but I did say it was my opinion. And of course nobody has to give anything away. Just when a giveaway is held, it's often so poor and tat like. My overall point though was, her product is more expensive than that of other bloggers so maybe that's why she didn't send out free sets of brushes to other bloggers.

    I actually thought that.
It was too expensive for her to send them to other bloggers.

How does pippa not get mentioned as often here for her veneers, her sending her palette everywhere her bags and bags of baby things from bella baby not marked ad.... is it because we warm to her more ?

What about the bags of toys the waxing one gets sent for her son and the trip to Spain to drive a new car (I think she marked that ad) and then there's the celebrity makeup artist she's fantastic at her job I've had my makeup done by her she gets so much stuff sent to her and has never once put ad on anything it's crazy the amount of free stuff that she snaps about

Why does everyone mentioned the curry's blogger and SJ there's a lot more that are way worse

I've called Pippa out on here loads of times, even though she happens to be one of my favourites.

In terms of the thread discussion here, yes,she does fall short in terms of transparency with #ad #spon declarations too. Just think overall that she as a person seems far more genuine and isn't trying to be something she isn't, ie, main blogger has a very different accent when appearing on the likes of the 7 o clock show than she does with a good few bevvies in her on snapchat on a night out . Hard to take a person seriously or believe they are genuine when they don't even have a consistent accent. This in turns makes a person question the sincerity of a blog overall where other elements are inconsistent.

I've never seen that blogger on the TV but yes I have in the past seen her snapchat she has a very strong accent alright

Very different than her accent when on tv or being interviewed. What's that all about?!

Ah Pippa has been called out before!
My fav thing of Pippa is her sona collab.. (a year after she fronted a campaign for another multivitamin company) she mentioned sona sooooo many times without #ad.
Then hilariously she was going through her goodie bags (which don't look that bad to be fair) and perfectil vitamin had given a sample.. Pippa 'I take these and I find them great'. Can't imagine sona will be happy with her!
Though it might be a case that she gave them a photo call, release on the use of the images and a certain amount of social posts.
I doubt Sona will use her again.

P.S. Does no one realise that Pippa has a team working for/with her, writing most of her 'blog posts' and posting on Instagram/FB etc.

No harm in that. At least she's providing employment and not just relying on her family to do everything for workshops, etc

. To be fair my accent at work is also pretty different to when I'm with my friends on a night out. I'm from west Kerry and my work friends met me on a night out and thought it was hilarious how Kerry I sounded... can't really judge a person for wanting to be understood by the masses...

Well able to understand her when her 'night out' is in use. Nothing incomprehensible about either accent. Just very very different accents

I think a lot of people do that. Very often it also depends on the accent of person you are talking to.

I checked Pippa a while ago and you would be probably hard pressed to find something as vanilla and without personality as her blog. Because everything is so nice and fluffy around her I think she grates people a lot less than someone who has a bit personality (in a good or bad way). So her missteps are just shrugged away because she is 'nice'.

When I've had a few drinks I have the most disgusting howeya accent ever.

I think Pippa is probably the worst for not disclosing.

Joanne actually said, just before Xmas when her brush were restocked, that she had kept back a number of sets to send out as PR. But when the pre-sale happened and they sold out quickly and people were complaining about not being able to get them, Joanne said on Snapchat that she was releasing that stock to online customers instead of sending it out for review. I don't know if this is true but this is what she said at the time.

I'd agree. She must have a sponsorship deal or something with Bourgois? There's no way her make up bag is that clean and perfect. She shows off their products all the time and they look brand new each time.

I still think Marissa Carter has the best workshop bag of goodies though!

She has sponsorship deals with Rimmel and Bourjois and never #ad

I think there's something very genuine about Pippa that its hard not to like her but she does tend to get sent a lot of products (that YSL handbag was amazing) don't recall her ever using #ad

That was more a gift from was it blank canvas or cloud 10? She's made them enough money I'd be taking the bag happily

Sorry yeah I meant Bourgois! Seen her mention Rimmel lipsticks and lip liner many times.

I do think she is warm and natural, however that's not a valid reason for not putting #ad. That makes it worse, easy to manipulate really.

I know she has a team behind her, but i've noticed a lot recently that while she is out and about on snapchat, her blogs and facebook are being updated continuously. So she's definitely not the one posting. I think she's only really behind her snapchat in terms of managing her social media, the rest of her media platforms are left to her team. So really, she should pull her socks up and make sure that she uses #ad on snapchat!
