Ping it with the VPN on, then turn off the VPN and download over 4G/WiFi :)

You'll need to unroot to update.
That's what I had to do earlier, took me 6 months to bother to do it, but now I'm on OOS 4.0 :D

Open recent apps, hold down on one app and you'll see "Drag here to use splitscreen"

Yeah that didn't work for me. Been at it all evening now.

Did you somehow change anything in the build.prop file in an attempt to get Google Assistant to work or something?

The error message refers to the phone NOT being a OP3. That would be true if something had changed in that file. Xposed? Custom ROM, not just rooted stock?

Have to say like the update alert slider works better.

Volume on the alarm is adjustable down from previous levels. Miss the alarm time on the lock screen.

Having just a percentage for the battery is excellent. Battery life in general seemsicj better as well

My only real niggle is the second sim which I keep disabled showing up in the notification bar.

ill dig out what i did later

No didn't change any of that. Only had root and twrp. I then unrooted, locked oem and put stock recovery. Same thing happen.

I managed install naught in the end. I flashed a modded version of twrp and disabled zip verification and sideboard it. Showed a couple errors but it worked. So then I flashed stock recovery and locked oem. Started asking me for password to start android. Which I didn't know. Think it's to do with dm-verity

Made a hash of it now. Phones bootlegging to twrp so guna reflash os3.8 and start from scratch

Noticed the alarm on the lock screen was gone too, pretty annoying :)

Do you happen to know if you can move the time in the Nav bar from right to center? I can't find it in the options at all. It might just be a CM thing!

Nope all you can do is add the seconds counter

So any updated opinions on the Camera? I'm considering getting this but was concerned about some comments on the camera.

It hasn't changed at all with the latest update. Still the only daily reminder that it's actually not a high end device.

I remember now when I first got the phone, I ended up doing the exact same thing that you have, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

Probably the reason why it took me so long to change the software, when I used to used nightlies from CM on the OPO.

Hope it works out for you :)

Cheers. Got sorted now. Turns out I was using the wrong stock recovery. Was using version 1.0 when I should of been using 2.0. Naught perfectly now.

Anyone purchase insurance from oneplus while getting the phone? About to pull the trigger on the phone but unclear if insurance covers theft as just references sabotage/vandalism. Thanks!

From my review of T&Cs, doesn't appear to cover theft. Won't bother with it then.

Is the update only available if you use a VPN? I have OxygenOs version 3.2.8. I see people talking about the battery percentage, mine has always only appeared as a percentage and not a combination of the battery icon and percentage. Hopefully I'll get the update soon as I've been wanting to use multiscreen for a while.

Someone mentioned it earlier, I meant splitscreen/multi window view.
