I think he has a little bit of a point in that generally the majority of people with depression are single males that are not reproducing. The reason they are not reproducing is that they have little going on their lives and women are on the lookout for dominant male figures, not stagnant males.

What he fails to understand is that our bioligical make up dictates that females will always want a dominant male, just like a male will always want a healthy looking female that looks perfect for bearing children. That is our bioligical make-up.

Women are only attracted to roughly 20% of men. That is pretty much the way it is for all mammals. If people are thinking about or actually killing themselves over not being able to reproduce, well then sorry but that is the circle of life.

No amount of gender pay gaps or quota's are going to reverse the fact that females are only attracted to 20% of males.

Why does this **** get repeated so often on boards??

The amount of women who must be married to men they don't find attractive.

Most lexicographical sources define feminism as the advocacy of women's right based on the equality of the sexes. So, it wouldn't be incorrect for a feminist to care for an imbalance stemming from the male side.

I think you've hit on the source of why many dislike "feminism" - it can be quite an ambiguous term.

I think any women I've spoken to about feminism (and men who aren't sceptical about it) define feminism as seeking equality, not preference.

I can see how, if you assume that feminism is seeing only to further the cause of women, that you might have objections - but feminists that want this are rare, and really aren't feminists under the normal definition.

    Sorry, I don't really understand?

In the real world, outside of tinder, this 20% alpha male **** doesn't exist.

    It's all in your head

It's pretty clear that most feminists main current concern is to address the inequalities that affect women. They are concentrated on these issues. People chastising them for not addressing mens issues with the limited resources that any campaign has are being just as silly and unrealistic as my example of homelessness.

How is it unrealistic? There are millions of feminists in existence, a number that grows by the day, conjoined with the prominence of modern liberalism. There is certainly room to address the failure of men to express their feelings, the pressures of masculinity, as well as domestic violence on men (who account for more than 40% of victims, though they receive only a small fraction of the support).

I've heard feminists say it many a time whenever people accused them of female supremacy. "We're fighting for gender equality." If that is so, the other end of the spectrum has to be considered now and again.

Homeless activists caring for animal rights, two wholly unrelated issues from skin to bones, remains a red herring.

Feminism dosent hate males. You haven't read past the headline.
I understand we can have the idea a feminist is a fat, short woman with short red hair.

He is also far from an idiot, just becuase he plays a character with a bag over his head dosent mean his opinion or what he says becomes irrelevant.
I know his persona outside of the bag and he is incredibly intelligent.

I'm a feminist. I know loads of feminists. I've never met one that hated men. I'm sure with a bit of googling you could find some that do but that's like saying all conservatives are racist.

Can this stuff not be kept to the conspiracy theories forum?

You're talking about feminism as if there's some leader who can say "ok 80% of you concentrate on women's rights and 20% concentrate on men's because the dictionary definition says we're all about gender equality".

Be realistic. Women get involved in feminism as individuals. They want to campaign on certain issues and are more likely to campaign on issues close to their hearts.

It's completely pointless to come along and say to someone with finite campaigning time "oh you should be campaigning for men's rights or the rights of women in Africa".

There are so many arguments out there about how feminism can help men as well, but of course, it's easier to just foam at the mouth about how evil women are and everything is our fault

*I'm really hungover. If someone would make me a sandwich I'd be eternally grateful. And grab the ibuprofen whilst you're there.

Eh, the thread was started because a clown went on the Late Late and got applauded for saying men are topping themselves because they had a feminism deficiency and you're trying to turn this into being about women always being told everything is their fault??

He's somewhat out of touch with reality. Suggesting neo-liberalism signalled the end of the notion of men providing for women! That men should not put themselves under pressure to meet expectations!! That modern women don't care about any more!!

He is drunk on SJW juice. Most women favour men who have their sh1t together, even if they are not dependent on it. He's akin to Guardian journalists who called the recent election for Clinton because they believed their theory that women could not vote for Trump.

Still he is young and idealistic and fair play to him for trying to do something positive. Though his theory is absurd and unworkable.

'Hello modern woman, I'm a broke bum who used to be sad and depressed but now I believe in feminism. And because its 2016 you're a feminist too. So you must have a high paying job. Buy me dinner.' Phew thank fcuk she'll never think less of me for being a good for nothing lazy ass. She's recently been liberated from the slavery of feminism and understands that people are equal despite their individual merits. A rationale where I get to eat free dinner and feel good about being the victim. Perfick.

The most poisonous form of that (or one of them) and it's one I've seen several times on here, is men telling other men not to go to places like the Rape Crisis Centre for help if they're a survivor of sexual abuse because *gasp* it's run by FEMINISTS.

If there's even one men out there who was influenced by that and is struggling through on his own (being a male survivor can be particularly complex and difficult) then I hope those guys are happy, totally worth it to get a dig in at the feminists on t'internet. Pricks.

Sorry, maybe I didn't make my point clear enough. I am not blaming women, it didn't even enter into my thought.

I was aiming the blame towards the males. They need to man-up and start taking responsibility for their own failures it or stop whining about it.

Equal pay and quota's are not going to make Perenially Unemployed Uneducated Joe suddenly attractive to women.

Quite literally the first thing that shot through my head, tbh.
Why are feminists were topping themselves then? What are they deficient in?
