We've a holiday house in inch (about 20-25 mins from dingle) and I agree with the lads. Lovely bars, some great eating houses and if you are lucky you might find harp there!!

    Some beach

    Some beach

It is nice...However, my wife's parents have a house in ballinskelligs and over that way is spectacular. Finian's Bay, Ballinskelligs and Derrynane are like something from another country. The Skellig chocolate factory is somewhere that every chocolate lover should visit in their lifetime.

Kerry is the only county that matches Donegal* for beaches.

I was down there last year, and it was pretty amazing alright, but I am just back from the Aran Islands and Galway. While driving towards the Cliffs of Moher we stumbled across Hazelnut Mountain chocolate factory.

The cafe there is ranked by the IT as having one of top ten best cups of coffee in Ireland, and the chocolate is very good. The main difference, is that apparently Skelligs is a chocolateer that import most of the chocolate ready made, Hazelnut is bean to bar. Cool place, worth visiting.

It was badly needed for that motorway. Since it was built a few more have sprung up.

I disagree, McDonalds in Roscrea is a perfectly acceptable alternative.

Even a 5 km journey to ballina/killaloe (turn off at Birdhill) is well worth a stop.

@awec - Google's now showing 90p for a euro. Going north would probably give good bang for your buck.

The value of sterling has gone nuts. There are some predictions that it could hit parity with the euro by Christmas.

I'm waiting for close to parity before I buy some

There'll be tailbacks the length of the M1 for Christmas shopping.

Just looking at booze prices on tesco.co.uk - have taxes on booze skyrocketed in the last couple of years in the uk?

Have a listen to the OTB interview with Lance Armstrong. He's something else.

Operating on my understanding that you are based in Dublin - the Brooklodge in Wicklow is nice, it's not massively expensive but a good spot and out of the way.

The wife and I spent the first few days of the honeymoon just chilling out because the last minute prep for the wedding and the day itself is actually pretty tiring.

Wineport lodge is nice, as is the Radisson Blu in Cavan also. Aghado Heights in Killarney is an amazing stay, really look after you but it's a little pricier and out of the way.

Kellys resort in Rosslare also a decent break.

Hehe, our new kitten just reported your post :D

The price for booze seems to be higher in NI than in mainland UK. Definitely in the pubs anyway, a pint here will cost you anywhere from £2.50-£4 depending on how shoddy or posh a place you're at.

Might be. I'm considering a few models of that kind of spec but budget is not around 100 euros.

It's not about 7 months old so I'd be looking for a bit more than 100

I'm still not entirely sure Donald Trump won't win and I feel sick thinking about it.

Ah, a few days ago I felt the same but I'd be fairly certain that the last 24 hours or so have done for him. A bunch of high profile republicans have finally abandoned ship in the last day or so and I just can't see him doing it now.

There's still a stupidly high number of undecided voters which is just baffling. What he's just done in the last hour could be the end of it though.

Agreed, it's absolutely bizarre tbh especially after the last day. Even if I was a dyed-in-the-wool Republican I would heading for the hills.

What's really bizarre about this latest stunt is that there is currently a civil case going through the courts accusing Trump of raping a 14 year old, and that's the 3rd time he's been accused of sexual assault. I don't think Hillary will stoop that low but he's just leaving himself wide open for someone else to.

Good on Anderson Cooper anyway. Trump has already lost it on the first question from him.

I should not have stayed up for this. Tomorrow is going to be a write off.

Hillary again far more concise and presidential but Trump better than first debate. Completely one sided but who knows what the Americans will think.

My favorite parts were when Trump said he would have Hillary thrown in jail if elected, his sneak attack on ISIS and his pre debate press conference with Bill Clinton's aparent rape victims.

The problem is these debates are pointless. People who have been supporting Trump all along will say he won and continue to support him. Same for Hillary. I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone could be undecided at this point but I saw nothing in that debate that would swing someone either way they weren't already leaning.

On a side note I saw a tweet from Websters Dictionary saying that more people are searching for "a leppo" than for "Aleppo" during the debate.
