So I hope not. I always presumed the reason why he was such a big factor in the camps was because he's based in Boston. Plus he would have given up a great deal of time from his other ventures to fly out to Vegas and help Conor with his camp and coach for TUF. Wouldn't be suprised to see him back involved when Conor goes over before the fight.

Yeah he's doing coaching in Boston and still fighting himself so i'm sure he's kept busy. It's a short enough run over to NY from Boston so hopefully he'll feature in some way.

I wonder how late they are going to go out? You'd have to guess 2 weeks before fight night at the earliest just to get on NY time. Shouldn't be much acclimatizing to do....I've been to NY in November and it's cold as fcuk like here!!

Yeah I don't think it'll be that bad either. I'm living in Toronto and thats not too far away from NY and November is usually okay. I'd imagine 2 weeks as well. Wouldn't suprise me if he went to Boston to train with Egan in the time he goes over.

How do you mean? Back then Jamie Kavanagh and Sutcliffe were boxing out of Crumlin and on different levels to him thats all im saying, funny enough hes done better in life than they can dream of.

    When was that?
Are you saying that he wouldn't have improved with the same dedication and work ethic he's shown in MMA. I've never seen Kavanagh or Sutcliffe, so maybe they were genuinely that far ahead.
Trying to speculate on what if's is virtually impossible.

At that stage there wasnt much hope imo,I vaguely remember seeing him fight in the ringside as an amatuer got a count against him and came back to win, considering his obsessive personality its not beyond the realms but I wouldnt of bet on it them guys were different class to him and they aint superstars (both box pro now).

easier to escape with no Gi, so you learn better technique with it. so not a waste as long as you dont spend time on Gi chokes that are useless in mma

Was he with any other fighters?

Actually just seen this pic on Conor's twitter and I'm pretty sure that's the guy that went into Yamamori with him.

    That's Charlie Ward.

Had a tough old year. Nobody is blaming him for Carvahlos death obviously but still tough old stretch. He was in NY with Conor as well. I've a feeling he's doubling as security for Conor for a few extra bob - but might be mistaken.

Did he become all Ireland boxing champion at youth level?

I can't even imagine. None of these guys get in there to seriously hurt their opponent or break bones. At worst they want to KO the guy, pick them up off the canvas and go for a few pints afterwards. Some boxers were never the same after their opponent died in the ring, so it'll say a lot about him if he carries on and does well.

That's the first time I seen a photo of Charlie (any reason given for the recent cancelled fight by the way?).

Even back in April I can't recall the media using images of Charlie. Mustn't be too many about or I guess it was a bigger story just to focus on Conor perhaps.

Yeah, I think he is bouncing for Conor as in the two or three minutes I seen of them when they got out of the car and walked over to Yamamori, they must have been asked to do selfies eight or nine times in those 25 to 30 yards or so and Charlie seemed to be politely trying say they were in a rush to a few of them. Conor did give selfies to around half of those that asked though. Which most likely means that just as a result of the brief amount of time, four or five people went home and told people they met Conor and he was sound and the four or five people went home saying they met him and he was an asshole.

Can you imagine what it must be like for him to walk up a busy Grafton St. Must be mayhem. There's no way he could stop and give everyone a selfie that asked. Sure it would take him hours to get from end of the street to the other if he did. Seen a lot of celebs over the years in Dublin and I don' think I ever seen anyone get that kind of immediate attention from members of the public. In fact I remember seeing Bono walk from the Kitchen one day back in the 90's, at the height of U2's fame, all the way through Temple Bar and nobody stopped him :P

Conor's fame seems to be at another level though. Dublin has a rep for tending to leave famous people alone but Conor comes across as being very accessible for some reason, and so people (from the little that I seen at least) seem to just approach him like they know him. Well paid for the inconvenience of it all of course, but still and all I'm sure he must need the patience of a saint at times when he's out and about.

So Alvarez walk around weight is 180 pounds. I hope the lads can conjure up a better game plan other than hoping his chin is inferior to Nate's.

We saw against Nate, the bigger man, that Conor's power doesn't translate. I think the same will happen with Alvarez. Hope Conor is ready for 5 rounds agani

Alvarez has been rocked so many times at this stage it's fairly evident he doesn't have anywhere near the chin that Nate has. If Conor catches Alvarez the way he caught Nate then it's lights out.

Eddie punches very similar to Jose Aldo and Marcus Brimage.

Bite down on gumshield, head first punches follow.

That head first style of punching is tailor-made for McGregor, he's proved time and again in his career he picks apart these opponents.

What makes Eddie different to Aldo or Brimage is that he's got excellent wrestling so there's always the level-change to worry about.

Conor did a better job in the Diaz rematch in the clinch. In the first fight he took about 10 unanswered strikes in the clinch before he shot for that takedown. In the second fight, he did far better at controlling Nates wrists and bouncing shots off his shoulders.

I just can't see this fight lasting much longer than 2 rounds and if it does go the distance then the chances are it's been an attritional battle against the cage with Eddie wearing Conor down.

With Eddies chin being so suspect, his style of punching, and conors counter-punching being so good, i think this will be an early KO or TKO for Conor.

I really like your posts man.

I think id Conor stuffs a few take downs or gets up quickly Eddies ****ed. I also would take a punt on Conor by knee or kicks just to **** with everyone and him to prove he will get you from anywhere, Eddie want to be on point going for that take down,

I also read and watch as much as anyone on here so anything could happen but i do believe we are about to see a dual weight world champ via TKO/KO in the biggest org on earth and he is a lad from dublin.

    WAR CONOR

I'd say Conor is the most famous person in the country right now. It's hard to really tell how big a star he is worldwide because, with him being Irish, he'd be a bigger star here. But I can't think of a single person right now who is more famous than he is in Ireland!

    Niall Horan :D:pac:

He has 24.72million more Twitter followers anyway :D

    Cerrone running his mouth again:

‘I just tune him out, because behind the scenes he is like a scared little kid.
‘He hides from us. When they line us all up they take Conor and put him in another room because he can’t be around other fighters because we don’t play that s***.

‘(He is disliked) by all. By all. He’s not one of the fellas, he’s not a good dude.
‘But it is what it is, he’s done a good job promoting the sport.

Diaz is different though, just listen to the guy talk, he just doesn't know when to quit. He has a huge punishment threshold.

Nope. Conor is a pretty big celebrity in Ireland now. Apart from your evergreens like yer Bonos and yer whoever elses, i'm not sure there are too many Irish people who are more famous that him in Ireland right now.

    I'm open for correction (again)
