Back on Monday for 2 hours! Absolutely dreading it :-( I love school but the LC has always been in the back of my mind since TY and I made myself so panicked thinking about it constantly over the summer :-(

Is hamlet the shakespear play for 2017 ?
Also would translations, kings speech and foster suffice for 2017, as they are in the curriculum for it.
I am having problem figuring out whats poems I have to study for 2017, even with looking the course for 2017. Anyone doing o level be able to clear this for me

    Here's the circular about it:
    https://www.education.ie/en/Circulars-and-Forms/Active-Circulars/cl0007_2015.pdf (.pdf file)

The poems for OL are at the end of the document.

Yes, but am I supposed to study all of them, when I did my lc this year, we def didn't study 36 poems. More like 15.

Study 5 or 6 poets to cover all options, I suppose.

My plan of getting to sleep early for school has not gone well

I've settled into a nice routine of staying up until 3 maybe 4am and getting up around 10 or 11 in the day. Send help.

After watching superbad there to get into the right mindset for LC. I remember watching it when I was in first year, and I just thought "haha he said sex xD"... but watching it now, its message (if you could call it that) hits home for me.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much

Just apply that interpretative mindset to the English paper and you'll be grand!

    Yes I'm still awake

Staying up until 3 every night certainly doesn't help when I've only got 5 more days until school and still have to cover 4 honors maths chapters :(

Is anyone else absolutely bricking it over the amount they still have left to cover in some subjects?! 😯
We don't even have half the accounting course done ðŸ˜

Sure all we've done in English is Hamlet and 2 poets. The other two honours classes have done Hamlet, all the comparative texts, and 4 poets. :pac:

We're plowing along nicely in everything else though

This couldn't be more accurate as to how I spent these last few days of summer. Sleeping around 3-4, waking up past noon, watching films like Project X thinking this is what results night or debs is gonna be like when we all know it definitely isn't.

*sigh* this is gonna be a long year.....

Speaking as a repeat, It flys honestly.

Longest term will be from September to Christmas, which is when you really should be making a serious effort at tying up your project work. After Christmas, suddenly you are at your mocks, your orals, your practicals, then all of a sudden you are 2 weeks before June 5th and you're in spitting distance of college.

    Back tomorrow :D

It's that really ****e day where you just hear speeches from the principal about the value of hardwork and you get your timetable which is inevitably awful and much worse than last year.

At least some of us can drink the pain away

    Ah yes the dreaded speeches!

I don't one why they bother. We know exactly what they're going to say! :P

I suppose they have to get paid for something :p

Had to go in to collect books today (rental scheme job). No speeches thank chrisht but each LC student had to drag in a parent to sign this sort of disclaimer pretty much saying that if we do a bad leaving cert or do poorly in a subject that we can't hold the school or any individual teacher responsible. I had to sign it as well

Anybody ever heard of something like this? The only reason I can think of is that the school must have got absolutely hounded by parents when the results came out there a week ago...

Other than that, got a locker one down from the top, so that's nice :D

Wow, I've never heard of that. I think someone must have been unhappy with their results!

More likely, someone tried to sue a school because their little darling didn't get the 630 (sic) points they were expecting!

Ok, might be cynical of me, but we seem to be following the American culture of suing everyone on little or no grounds.

I fully expect someone to try suing Met Eireann at some stage because it rained on their wedding day!

You can try to sue whoever you want, the judge will chuck you out on your arse unless you actually had a point.

I guarantee that people this greedy have always existed, it's just that these days we get to hear about them.
