Most do it for very good reasons but it doesn't help. They have things that Africans want like English, so they should teach that. Many just want to work in orphanages for a month and then leave. That can't be good for the kids.

I remember reading an article about it and they were saying that these young students were so useless that they'd have to go back over the work they had done and re-do it so the houses were taking longer to build. Just send them the money they need to build the houses and leave the poor bastards alone…

People who post "Happy Mothers Day to the most amazing Mom ever! " on their newsfeed but neglect to actually phone their Mam or buy her flowers.

People who create "Social Experiment" videos.

So, to summarise this thread, pretty much everyone. Everything you do annoys someone.

And I think I'm great for posting that

People who get out of bed in the mornings.

Fook those people. Making a life for themselves.
Only slightly better than those who make a big deal about changing their own bed linen whenever it takes their fancy.

Telling others how the book was much better than the film*

Wishing people Happy Birthday on FB - particularly when you have had zero communication with them since their last birthday. I know everyone does it but it's not as great as in-person/card in the post/call or even a text to the phone.

*I still do this on occasion and I'm really trying to stop ;)

The biggest one in my opinion is praying - "I'll pray for you" eh, ok, thanks for that, I'm sure it will make an enormous difference!

    Cultural relativism.

People "checking their privilege" because of being white/middle-class (bet it makes lots of non white/working-class people cringe to pieces).

Giving young girls mixed messages about how they are either a victim or better than boys, as a form of teaching them to be feminist - surely teaching them they are no better or worse than anyone and to respect others is less of a divisive approach?

People who think they're great 'banta'
Teenagers who clearly think they're the ****ing **** and amazing and cool.
People posting their achievements on social media like they deserve a ****ing medal

Self-professed foodies esp the ones who introduce themselves as one in their social media account liner. These foodies will likely belittle others for not being foodies like them.

    Running

I would have to say running too. It's become one of those subjects where people mention it for an ego boost.

In addition to this, people who say "Happy belated birthday" on Facebook. It's not the birthday that is late, it's you.

Never said I was against anything on that list.

So if someone is in a restaurant and has to state they are vegan in order to ascertain if a vegan option is available, or if a gay woman gets hit on by a man in a pub and says "actually I am here with my girlfriend" etc. they are just doing so because they think they are great? Or is it just if they state these things for the sake of stating them rather out of necessity?

    Cooking.
Someone else has already listed out all the ingredients you'll need with step by step instructions on how to combine them and you've managed to do this without setting the kitchen on fire.
    Well done you.

The things I listed are completely boring, neutral who cares crap that a small number of people will throw around the place for virtue signalling reasons, for being insecure about their intelligence, to fit in with a certain group of people, for wanting to say they achieved something difficult, when they actually didn't. List goes on. We all have Facebook pages.

Which is the whole point of this thread, isn't it?

    Dare I say it..Breastfeeding.

Although it IS a great thing to do, and the ideal way to feed a baby..SOME mothers can get carried away with it and that's why I think it fits the thread.

People who say absolutely instead of yes, you just make yourself sound ignorant.

I agree with you when it comes to some stuff - people have mentioned things like running, food, the camino. Can't see what the issue is with any of these things - they are just hobbies (however I think people probably don't mean the things in and of themselves but some people who do them and never shut up about them and exude an air of superiority) but there are certain things that some folk do which they think they're brilliant for doing, when it's the opposite - best example being people who go to work when half dead from sickness. Perfect example.

Another one: fighting the power all the time, blaming the government for everything and maintaining it's for the greater good, when it's only for their own selfish ends and to avoid taking personal responsibility.

Big time. The preferred way to feed a baby (although some women struggle), nothing wrong with it in public, but being militant about it - making mothers who cannot manage it feel bad... that is just, well, not nice really.

People who boast about drinking,eg i went to a pub ,i drank x no of pints, i have an awful hangover.or people who claim i can drink 2 or 3 pints ,it has no effect on my driving.
really ,you are some kind of hero ,because you can drink a few pints ?
Or people who claim they can smoke hash a few times a week,
its fine,it has no effect on my life style.
You can,t drive or cycle safely while stoned ,so i .d say it must effect your social life to some extent.
People who work for cash or pay others in cash to avoid paying tax.Our health service, local government depend on everyone paying their fair share of tax.

or people who just buy everything online from uk or american websites .
And act surprised when all the good local bookshops,/record stores close down.

    Pokémon

I just discovered last night that all those people wandering about looking for 'Pokemen' are doing it for free.

    Such a waste!

Modesty. I hate people being all modest. Modest people think they're great.
