I know there's been a lot of kids one already on this but I hate it when parents put up pics of their kids on Facebook with a 'student of the week' trophy Usually with a caption of "so proud of my little scholar" or something. They rotate it ffs

People who "chat" to a homeless person on a really busy street/thoroughfare and feel they are Mother Theresa. I can't imagine what they are "chatting" about. I do imagine the line of conversation though from this charitable type.
Mother Theresa Wannabe: What's it like living on the streets?
Mother Theresa Wannabe: You take that money now and buy yourself some nice warm food.
Mother Theresa Wannabe: You poor thing sure it could be any one of us.
Meanwhile the homeless person thinks how much more he needs for a naggon/ bit of "gear."

Any who has any items that start with the words "Keep calm and..."

The begrudgers who moan about other people successes and achievements in a ridiculous way so they can only feel good about their misery by making other people miserable in return. Seems to be only a thing in Ireland.

People who throw out insults like confetti and are hypersensitive themselves. They literally think they can say anything to you and get offended if they are even mildly or unintentionally slighted.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,066 ✭✭✭Johngoose

People who tell a story at work, which is laden with references to what a great person they are to the point where it becomes the main point of the "story."

People who put up a personal website or online personal profile on any social media, and go around boasting about it: look at me. look what I've done.

And never update it ever again.

Nah, Begrudgery is an international sport. Surely looking at the bottom half of the internet and on Twitter would have thought you that.

People who think they're saints just for doing their job, ie: teachers, nurses etc.

People who post Map My Run on fb.

People who post "personality quizes" which say they are too giving when you know they are the biggest blood sucking leeches you've ever met (I may or may not be thinking of a particular person here).

Virtue signalling? Middle Class Kid's burden?

Maybe they were doing family tree research, found some old great great grand uncle ran a plantation in the Caribbean (hence the leafy suburbs res) and are now desperate to ease their guilt.

Most do it for very good reasons but it doesn't help. They have things that Africans want like English, so they should teach that. Many just want to work in orphanages for a month and then leave. That can't be good for the kids.

People on social media who post pictures with "1,000,000 shares and my mother will give up cigarettes" and then the twats that share it.

People who "name and shame" companies on social media and on those populist phone-in shows, or who post a one-sided complaint to a company's social media profiles/TripAdvisor etc in order to "spread the word". Worse again are the sheep who take their word as gospel and view the non comment from the company as incompetence when they are limited in what they can say publicly, for security reasons.

And the thing of "Type amen to this status and you will come into money" - and people actually do it; crikey! Not having a go at people who are religious and sensible with it, but that's just being stupid.

People who respond with advice and expertise on social media in relation to something about which they don't have the full story.

Saying "You look stunnin hun" to a woman who clearly looks a state in ill-fitting clothing that totally doesn't flatter her. I saw such a comment once in response to a photo a woman put up of herself weighing 25 stone in order to inspire herself to lose weight. It was not put up for flattery!
