    The desks are this btw.

They used to belong to my brother but I took them off his hands. They are currently unaltered in a corner L configuration but this is only temporary. I have plans to do a bit of an 'Ikea-Hack' job on them and reconfigure, combine and re-assemble various parts of them together along with a few extra bits and bobs from IKEA into a full room width 'single' desk. I'll be doing a Sketchup model in the next few days to test out my plans and will post here if anyones interested.

Well I can't pull the desk out any bit so there's not really any room to shove the cables down there. They'll have to stay.

I found this stuff really good for tidying up my desk cables

Very nice setup Calibos. Really liking the X52 mounts (mine are just on my desk). The main reason I haven't mounted them like that is because with my eyesight, I need the monitor really close, so I can't get it far enough forward that the HOTAS wouldn't hit the front of the desk. The end-goal is to have a custom setup for flight/space sim stuff. Stick between the knees, throttle to the left, probably a curved monitor or Rift/Vive as display.

Oh, and christ almighty, get some nice speakers! Shame to have so much awesome there and to have horrible audio. :P

I get away with the HOTAS like that and not worrying about closeness to the desk because I only ever intend to play space/flightsims in VR.

Like yourself, I also intend to eventually build a sim rig/pit with bass shakers and maybe even 3DOF motion. The HOTAS mounted to an office chair is a temporary measure. Now whether temporary means a year or three is another question entirely! :D

The speakers are surprisingly good despite their diminutive size which is the reason they won't drive me insane while I wait for my bank balance to recover, whereupon I'll be purchasing a new Home Theater receiver for downstairs, taking the current 5.1 receiver from that room for the this room and pairing it with something like 5.1 KEF Egg speaker set.

    Cheers.
Must keep an eye out for one. Thinking of adding a second screen and a monitor in portrait might save some space

Going to use the EVGA HB SLI bridge as opposed the new ones from Nvidia as they physically don't play nice with the EK waterblocks
