Is Home advantage still in play for the next match?

No, neutral venues, hopefully Pearse Stadium, Galway, would suit both counties and supporters.

I've a feeling they'll put it as a double header in Croker

In theory, it would. But any regular going there knows it's one of the worst logistical nightmares that the gaa has in its hands. So I'm not sure they will opt for it. In saying that, don't think pearse ever got a neutral qualifier and it is an opportunity to give them 1. But I'd guess it'll be croke pk.

A serious championship day out in Croke Park with the Clare footballers would be magic. Great memories of Seamus Clancy and the boys 92 flooding back.

It sure would. Plenty of proud days over the last few years but on a smaller scale. Heading into a game against a stuttering Roscommon on a six day turnaround and valid notions of a quarter final appearance arise!

Was driving yesterday while the games were on and it was even nice to hear the legend Jack O'Shea on Radio 1... 'I know all about Clare, they retired me'

great memories of that 92 gang as a young fella, Seamus, Tom Morrissey, Noel Roche et al. And it was the making of Marty Morrissey as well!

Sure we could sneak a win against the Rossies and pulling Galway out of the hat wouldn't be the most unfavourable thing that ever happened... See where this is going?

That would make total sense to bring 2 teams from the west to Croke Park for a qualifier!
And then bring the winnners back a week later for a quarter final - which does make sense.
Give me a few logistical problems over a 6hour plus roundtrip any day.

Clare were out of the draw first and are listed as the home team so will wear their regular kit with Roscommon wearing their away kit.

You sure? I thought gaa rules state that if a change of jerseys is required then both teams change?

I can't remember ever playing Roscommon before, in either code. My mind is a blank.

As far as I know both their away kits are mainly blue, so that would mean one team would need to wear their home kit, ie, Clare in this case.
I think usually both teams change alright. In the case of Mayo v Fermanagh last week, both teams wore their away kit.

Clare were first out of draw alright but that was because they drew from qualifier pot first and beaten provincial finalists pot next, so I don't think any team has been allocated as the home team yet.

Either the provincial jerseys, a new 3rd strip or they may just toss for 1 team to wear home jersey

conor mcgrath is on the bench at the very least. for Sunday he will surly feature at some stage. any word on conor or Colin Ryan and how likely they are to return

podge surprisingly is given the green light to play both Saturday and Sunday . I was expecting Fitz to dig in his heels on the issue . there was a few comments by the clare people today hitting back at Fitzs interview last week too

Fitz brought to hospital yesterday .looks unlikely he will be on the line Sunday .

Galway Clinic last night and up to Dublin today, http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/2016/0720/803646-clare-davy-fitzgerald/

I hope he's ok, can't be good to be moved from the Galway Clinic to Dublin, I've never heard of someone having to be moved from there before.

Hopefully he will be alright. I curse him enough over the hurling but wouldn't wish him ill health at the same time.

my taughts exactly . you never want to see anyone in trouble but as you said we have criticised him enough for his tactics . it's only sport at the end of the day

You will always get a shock when hearing these types of things. We tend to forget these guys are human beings when we get wrapped up in the discussions about their teams/tactics etc and forget they also have a life outside of the GAA. I sincerely wish Davy well and hope he will be back parading the sidelines soon. As posted earlier its only a game at the end of the day, your health must come before all that.

I'd like to think no-one has a problem with David Fitzgerald the person, as the GAA persona yes a lot of us have "issues" but as a person I'd like to think we all wish him all the best.
