    Fairly new at this craic.

Production needs a lot of work evidently, any feedback (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated!

Nice moody number. I like the simple keys against the deep bass pad.
Track could proably do with some eq'ing in the lower end. Maybe just roll of a little in the bass pad. Personally I'd probably brighten the hats a tad too. Nice track overall.

Been A while since I posted or completed a track. Plan to get a few done by years end here's the first. As always feedback appreciated

Had a listen to the original first which I found to be a bit wanky. Yours has way more balls straight off. That kick is wicked, although maybe a tiny bit too bottom heavy. Nice arrangement to the track with some classic filter/eq drops (my kind of techno).
Might have been an idea to introduce a few sharp perc hits now and then just to cut through the overall mix.

Yeah after a couple of days of ear rest I though I slammed the kick a bit too much might go back redo the master again. Finished the track in 2 days for the deadline of the competition was just a little bit rushed. Here's the one I uploaded http://play.beatport.com/contests/ron-costa-berige/5755ff57455a1b602dfb57f0 not Mastered.

Subtle feel to the overall track here. Nice bassline and warbling pads. I think the snare sits a bit high in the mix as well as the snyth hits. If it was me I'd lengthen the attack and the decay a bit of those synth hits just to give them a more mellow fit. The decay in the second half of the track suits better imo.

Thanks Mordeith. Never occurred to me to lengthen the attack but makes complete sense. One of those unintuitive things you need someone to tell you!

For Shift I would connect side chain from the kick into the synth and from the acid line towards the end the level of the synth could do with small reduction with compressor. I would probably double compress the synth. That is compress it with maybe 4;1 ratio moderate release (maybe parallel) then side chain the kick and acid lead onto another compressor with high ration low threshold no gain change just so the synth ducks for each hit on the kick and acid line. Imo slightly louder acid line nice track though!

For Enter the perc hit would do with a -3dB or so reduction in higher frequencies with high Q setting on an eq just to take the transient of it a little. The clap and snare hits could probably benefit from been gated to take the decay of a few ms. Also nice track!

But......I did a clarifying mix for my own listening pleasure. Would you like to hear?....I can post the Mp3s.

Top notch. The kick Drum and the bass hit swing are real nice (5am). The kick though does seem a little bit distorted. Don't know if its the transient click on the bass hit it might do with a little smoothing with attack on a filter or a gate.

Agree with Waffles on the kick sounding a bit distorted. Nice bassline though and good use of the vocal sample. The hats sound a bit washed out to me but I suppose it fits the style in some ways.

I like the harder edge to this track with a nice throbbing bass and upfront kick. I think it gets a tad repetitive though.

    Work in progress:

Slight reduction in mids/high mids on clap at the start, the clap is very grating on the morning ears its very impactful though and when the synth starts rolling sits very nice.could be more bass on that synth though sounds a little flat maybe a bass pad with sine wave an octave below it. When that trance lead comes in need to hear it a bit more for me. Did you sidechain or LFO it. 3/16 square wave LFO might be the job. Over all solid track.

    Find myself humming it!

Appreciate the feedback :), done it on my headphones early this morning so will get a chance later today to adjust and clean up via monitors. Used sidechain and will give LFO a go, to be totally honest with you it's all a bit new to me and this is the first time in ages I've actually managed to get some time on my Maschine.

A very calm little electronic tune I did. It's not my best but I like it and I enjoy it with a little listen to it now and then.

Wasn't expecting that to be so loud. Got to sort out your levels there. The synth that comes in at 1.08 should be a lot quieter. The intro synth could be a little higher with more treble and mids. Not sure if that 4/4 beat works with it. Its kind of a chip tune synth line at 1.08 a break beat might work a lot better with it!

The synth at 1.08 is so loud because I placed two of the tracks into it - so like two tracks of the same synth because it is the main part of the song and I like upbeats like this. I'm afraid, I cannot change the 4/4 beat. And it's supposed to be "old skool" type dance music. And I also cannot change the volume of the intro synth, that's how loud it can get unfortunately - I did want to turn it up louder.

What DAW you using. There are lots of ways to change the levels. Just giving you my opinion of the track and what I get from it you can take it on board or not that's up to you!

That clap is a tad loud alright. The sidechained synth reminded me of Tomcraft when I first heard it. Nice melody on it, nothing too complex but works well. I wouln't be mad on the lead synth. Not the melody, just the sound itself. I think someting a bit softer might work better there. The chord like syNths that come in at 2.03 are better IMO.

Well if you have or get the stems off the tracks you can import them into any DAW and change the levels.

A bit of tweaking done to my track:

Track seems to sit together a bit better as a whole. Might be a bit too much volume ducking on the lead synth but the movement on it is still cool.
I have nothing positive to say with that vocal version :P

Have a few tracks out on a disco vibe - first such release in this genre - the label Midnight Riot have put a lil video together - links to the previews of the other tracks on the release are in the description.
