So you'll be abusing access to database resources on Monday then. Illegally.

Jeez adam - whats been eating you this past while? Why are you going around taking digs at everyone? (Queue dig at me no doubt now... ;-)

@ squirrell - of course its an auto.
A twin turbo auto never falls off boost, ever..... a manual does. And on the mway, all i gotta do is mash the pedal and im down 2 gears and off like a rocket, while the poor soul in his manual has to clutch at least twice, and fall off boost too.....
Oh, and i spend lots of time on the M50.....

Unless I'm very much mistaken, yerman is talking about using private resources - or worse, public/government resources - unethically and illegally. On a public forum. That might be ok with you, but it's not with me.

Well, as Pedro was going to nick your car anyway....! Seriously I think he was just making the point, all sorts browse boards and a few of them might be in a position to use databases* in an illegal fashion. Pedro don't do bad things cos Adam will phone the cops!

    Mike.

*in Switzerland you can buy the regestration database and nick the car, except the Swiss don't do that sort of thing.

But I'm still restoring this and just might have it ready for next year...

If I knew his name I seriously would report him to the Data Protection Commissioner. Oirish acceptance of this kind of thing - check out dis fella for me Paddy, fix me ticket Paddy, here's a few bob for de plannin' permission Paddy - drives me nuts. What's sad is that it doesn't drive more people nuts.

ds20prefecture, FYI there's a couple of DS's on Carzone atm, in the one ad. One restored in white, one pre-restoration in blue. Thought you or a colleague may be interested. EDIT: Here you go.

@mike65 thanks for re-iterating my point. I think you would have to be looking (as DukeDredd said) to knock people or be totally stupid to see that I was trying to help people by doing it.

OMG. I hate having to spell everything out for people on here, it's ridiculous. So you're saying that you would report me to the Data Protection Commissioner when all I am trying to do is demostrate to people posting their reg numbers up willy nilly that if somebody has a vendetta against you then this information can be used against you. Just like you're trying to do.

As said above, to prove a point I would do it to demonstrate to people how easy it is for certain people do it. I certainly do NOT, nor do I condone doing any such thing.

@ds20prefecture, sorry but forget what I said earlier. You can all fcuk off if you think i'm going to risk my job to help anybody on here anymore. Even after I explain how I was screwed over in a previous thread, Ken Anal comes on quoting acts and legislation trying to beat me over the head with it. A fine example of what is wrong with this forum.

My point is made, I told everybody what I was going to do, but somebody could easily do it anonymously as well ya know without publicly declaring themselves. Making your point and linking to the Data Protection act won't stop somebody who hates you using your reg to get info on you because you will not know they are doing it so stop wasting your time.

not 100% sure why everyone blocks the plates out (or partially). these shots were taken for me and sent onto me by a friend - i'll ask him if it's irritating you that much

might have something to do with the problems seen in the uk with cloning and all other dodgy deals :)

@ Squirrel, yup I had advertised during summer as I was sent abroad with work. I didn't want it lying around, unused so I decided I'd try sell privately. Ran out of time, headed off with work and one of my brothers took care of the car. Now I'm back and loving it again :D

My babies – you can see I like cars from a broad spectrum – well there is nothing like variety.
I am just about sorted regarding having them all under wraps for the winter which makes a change from last year when my buying spree was a little crazed. But I always adopt the maxim ‘Ah sure it will all work itself out in the end’ – and so it has.:p

There is only a few possible tweaks I am thinking of making to the fleet. The Mk II Escort is for sale of course – as it has been for quite a while now and the status of the 504 is being considered. If I do get (as is my intention) a Mk II VW Golf GTI im afraid the 504 will have to go to make way for it.

I am quite enjoying this new fiscally responsible type of classic car ownership as is my bank manager – but a relapse is always just lurking around the corner so I am keeping away from Ebay and I don’t bring any money with me to classic car shows – well you just can’t be careful enough you know.:D
