They only launched at the Show on Sunday.
I suppose the only way to find out if they are any good is to get a quote?

Seems to be a growing trend here in Ireland for bike insurance companies not to do online quotes? Just went on to Axa there to price up insurance for a bike i like and they don't do online quotes, Liberty do, but the bike isn't listed! I don't think Carole Nash or mce offer an online quote option either, and as the bike is only a 125cc adelaide won't quote anyway ......after 15 years of biking i wonder would it be less hassle to learn to drive a car instead lol

The mrs. got a renewal quote for her car, was almost 200 quid more expensive than the year before, no claim or changes whatsoever yet the price is gone up and their excuse was that its going up with everyone  ! I hope it wont be the same with the bike when its up for renewal!

123? I had that with the car insurance last year. Just switched. I tend to switch the car insurance most years, they all reward new customers and shaft existing customers. No such thing as loyalty.

Yeah it was with them, got it at a much reasonable rate with competitor.

How do insurance assessments work? Was considering doing one.

Is it like a normal driving lesson but they assess you during it or is it more like a test?

Do you have to do an assessment for a single insurance provider or will you be assessed for a few at once? Wondering seeing as I need to renew my insurance soon.

I did one for liberty. It's essentially going on a run with an instructor. He'll run through some of the basics, see you riding in different areas (town, city). I don't think I was even asked to do a u-turn or any of that. They're basically seeing how confident and safe you are on the bike.

I got liberty grade 2, and according to the breakdown of my quota after, that's 30% off (I'm on a learner license so it essentially makes insurance cost the same as if I'm on a full).

Cost me 100 quid, saved me 200. Happy days. I picked liberty since I had my home/car with them, not sure what the discount rates are elsewhere. You only do it for one insurer.

Its like a normal lesson, meet have a chat, go for a ride & assess faults, give feedback & training to correct faults / bad habits, then assessment ride.

Ony two insurance companies accept the insurance assessment, Liberty & AXA.

Best to do the AXA assessment as it is accepted by both companies, AXA do not accept the Liberty assessment.

Male, 25, Galway, learner permit, 1 year NCB, Yamaha Dragstar 250

Got the following quotes from others for TPFT
Cornmarket/Adelaide: €350 (including breakdown and legal)
    Axa: €1100.
Carole Nash: €520 (including breakdown and legal)
    Liberty: €761
    MCE: €323, including legal

Told Cornmarket that I'd been offered better by MCE and they offered TPFT/Legal/Breakdown for €290

Fairly surprised by how diverse the quotes were. Is this normal?

Wont pay the cost of interfacing with their rating engine online perhaps?

Got a renewal quote of 309 from adelaide for fully comp for CBR XX 1100

Rang around, Carol Nash wanted over a grand!
MCE wanted 243 which included 183 days coverage across europe and track day coverage up to 50% of value which I thought was pretty good. But the excess was 675.

Rang back Adelaide and they matched the 243 with an excess of 250. I think I will stick with Adelaide.

Carol nash rang me back with a reduced quote of 290, no idea how they went from 1300 to 290! Sticking with Adelaide again.

I've been getting a few quotes lately. I'm 24, male, have a full unrestricted licence but no ncb (I've never had a claim but this is actually my first bike policy).

My bike is a 2004 Moto Guzzi Breva.

Worst value for Money: Axa, wanted €1975 3rd party only

    Best prices:
MCE: want about 720 (covers 6 months abroad, excess of about 650 euro).
Liberty: 752 3rd part fire and theft, excess of 250.

I will probably end up with MCE as they told me on the phone that if I pay in full on the day I get the quote they can probably bring the price down to about 600.

    24, full clean unrestricted A licence, 2 yrs NCB, 2005 GSX-R 750.

    Liberty - €283.50

Swapped off my Honda Hornet a month in to my new policy with no change on to the GSX-R.

Got my renewal on for my new bike from Adalaide, €501, 2015 Ducati Diavel, fully comp, 5 years NCB, Male, Dublin 12.

Thats excluding the legal and break down cover. Might push them for a reduction when the day comes.
