🤌🏻 neighbours again. Outside 10 minutes in an animated debate as to how to secure their banging side gate… obviously got to the stage it’s annoying / waking them too, maybe other neighbours have complained …the debate goes on ages….im listening and the absolute thickness of them, haven’t a clue…

    1. Bolt lock 2. Screws 3. Screwdriver…. but their sole idea…“ what if we put X up against it ? “ 🤦🏻‍♂️

multiple DIY shops within a 3 kilometre radius… go there, tell them your problem, purchase whatever they advise you to, ( it will be a lock ) you know..to lock the gate and you install it you dumb *******

When you're giving your adult kids a spin into town for a night out and they start laughing and commenting on your lack of driving skills ...one on a N plate and one just off taken off the N plate. Absolute experts now of course, I dropped them off further out than normal, they can walk in the rain , fuming. 🙄😁

LinkedIn. I f*cking can't stand it. I wish I could go on some sort of eloquent, yet expletive-riddled rant about it but I'm just so sick of it. I use it mainly to look for work. I interviewed for a role a few weeks ago I wouldn't have known existed without LinkedIn as the chap hiring shared it there.

I thought I was being clever by disconnecting loads of people but what happened was that it "suggested" oceans of drivel for my feed. It seems to be always Americans who are either paid to upload diarrhoea to LinkedIn about how great they are for going to work the same day they had a baby or they're just copying and pasting generic crap from ChatGPT.

The jobs part of it is great. The rest is awful.

You could start a new alternative site called Diarrhoeain, but it might attract a lot of shitesters.

I can't remember who, but someone here has an issue with getting rid of stuff and I just read this and thought it was funny and potentially helpful.

The word "poop" instead of "poo". Thanks for reminding me, DH.

TA that OH and I decided we'd really like to go and visit a particular museum in another country, I looked it up and it's closed for renovations. Until 2027, for feck sake.

I’ve an inkling that I banged it off of something, probably the corner of the bed while stumbling into bed after an evening’s sesh on the beer. I honestly can’t remember 😅I remember back in 2004 having a bruised nail for almost six months after I ended up kicking the sole of an opposing player’s astroturf boot instead of the ball during a 5 a side footy game. Those nail bruises take a very long time to clear for some reason. If it doesn’t disappear I’ll go to a foot health place. I’m based in north county Dublin so Tipperary would be ever so slightly out of the way for me 😝

Can I just reiterate - it's a MOOT point. Not a moo point, not a mute point, not any other kind of point.

Looked back over a note I'd written and I somehow spelled 'clear' as 'clere'.

People who dont know the difference between rein and reign

You do not give someone "free reign", nor do you "reign them in".

Also, bluebottles in the house. I thought we were past this headwreckery. Massive one in my kitchen earlier. I'm over in my mum's now and one the size and volume of a Chinook just appeared in the sitting room.

And sallow skin is not dark skin. It refers to an unhealthy complexion, which can appear kinda brown in places, but it's that "dark circles under the eyes" greyish brown, not melanin.

I was described as having sallow skin and I’m blemish free . Is because when I’m outside a lot I tan easily , even in winter sun .

They're using the term wrongly. You've tanned skin. Sallow doesn't mean tanned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,430 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Sallow it seems has a couple of meanings…

    (of skin) Yellowish.

    1. (most regions, of light skin) Of a sickly pale colour. quotations ▼
    2. (Ireland) Of a tan colour, associated with people from southern Europe or East Asia.
