B&B's should no longer be called that moniker as they no longer serve breakfast. Just like hotels - they have not only doubled in price but have gone down the same route as hotels with cost cutting - later check in, earlier check out and no breakfast.

If you had a kid "on the spectrum" you'd be happy for him to play on a screen rather than risk them screaming, shouting, and rolling around on the floor of the bus.

Wake me up when it's all over.

"Quick and easy Hummus recipe: perfect for when you're stuck for time!…………………..when I was only 6 years old, I used to love nothing better than visiting my Iranian grandmother because she made the best homemade hummus. Today I'm going to share with you her recipe. Hummus originates in the Levantine region and its origins are hotly contested

    ——-scroll for 24 minutes——-

For this recipe, you'll need the following…….

This is the kind of annual denial I regularly experience. Must be the clothes shrinking, mustn't it? Happens every year. Couldn't be anything else, surely. The Nile? Isn't that a river in Egypt? What about it?

Oh look, according to this BMI chart, I'm 5 inches too short……….

What is it with tradesmen and contractors' inability/refusal to return your calls and messages? Even some of the best of them seem to have an aversion to communication with their customers who can be paying a hell of a lot of money for the privilege of being ignored.

Probably a sign of a full diary, plenty of work and/or plain laziness & lack of courtesy. A very common thing.

When you've just about gotten used to the current phone UI and you're being nagged to install a new one.

My desire for a new phone every two years or so has diminished proportionately to my getting a bit older and more disinterested in "latest & greatest"

A young lad locally started up a power washing business to help pay for his way in college. Great to see young lads with a bit of get up and go

9 weeks ago he said he'll be out in a few hours to look at the job. ….Still waiting !

This drives me mad, dont' tell me you'll be out if you have no intention of calling or if you got caught up with something else just text and re arrange.

Well he'll be the last one I'll call now to get job done

Indeed. I'd prefer the people who say they can't do the job now rather than those who promise to do it and never do.

People like Terry Prone in the Irish Examiner (and other feature writers) who write for the pay than from any conviction about what they write. I entirely understand that they can't have firm convictions about everything under the sun.

I took home Dairy Milk dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. Hate dark chocolate.

Trying to avoid a sports result from last night, not gone on twitter, not looked at any sports or news websites just stuck with a few non sports related pages on Wikipedia for my internet use for the day, however I open up a new tab on Microsoft edge and and one of the teams involved appears as a trending search when I hover for a second over the toolbar when going to type in a work related webpage.

Quite clear that this team being a trending search means they won the game.

    Infuriating.

Have to remember not to open up any tabs on Microsoft edge going forward when I want to avoid a result.

MS Edge in itself is a massive PITA.

    *Shouts*

I'll swap you for my Hummus recipe………Did you know hummus originates from the Levant region, though the point of origin is hotly contested. In the 13th Century, chickpeas were considered……….🚫

     Makes one bowl of Hummus

    Recipe:

2 cups of soaked chickpeas (I used 2 400g tins to get this amount)

    5 tablespoons of olive oil

4-6 tablespoons of water (depending on how creamy you like it)

    about 10 basil leaves

The juice of 1 and 1/2 juicy lemons

    2 teaspoons of tahini

    1 teaspoon of cumin

    salt to taste

    Method:

Simply place all of the ingredients into a food processor/smoothie maker and blend until smooth, it’s really that easy! Then, if it lasts long enough to have left-overs, store in an air-tight container in the fridge! Enjoy!

This is for a plain, basic hummus. You can get a bit creative once you have this down pat. I usually fry some garlic and chilies in the oil first to infuse them both into the oil. Sun-dried tomatoes go well with the basil. Harissa and mint is a combo I don't like personally but others loved it. Lime and Chipotle (dried & smoked jalapeno) also is a great combo.

A square of dark chocolate is great in Chili con Carne, by the way. You know the way it sometimes looks like kinda dry and has a matte finish when you plate it up……like a photoshopped pile of dog sick? If you throw in a square or two right near the end of the cooking process it makes the chilli all shiny and moist looking.

Checking in on the parent's house while they are away on holidays. I heard a bit of scraping in the ceiling above my head, marked it off as the wind initially, but went to check one of the bedrooms anyway.

That is what I think it is isn't it? My clean-freak, rodent-phobic mother is going to freak out and I just hope the traps I have set are sufficient.

Here is yet another use for chocolate 😜

put it in your trap, they go gaga for it.
