    Another day, another TA!

Need a new toaster, off to Argos website.

Search for 'Toaster', get all the toasters shown. Only need a 2 slice one, so tick the slice filter box for '2'. Redo search.

First 2 are for 2 slice, then shows a huge pile of 4 slice again, mixed in with 2 slice ones!

Just lugged an old car battery out to the car and called the tip to check if getting rid of old car batteries was free or not.

Battery was showing 00.0V when put on charge.

Put another known good battery on charge and it also showed 00.0V almost unheard of as even an old dead battery will show some voltage.

Then I realised I connected both batteries up the wrong way. Lugged the old one back out from the car and its reading 12.4V.

Wake me up when it's all over.

The micro thin wrappers on cheese singles that tear so easily when trying to open them. Or when the cheese single has been deformedly wrapped, resulting in part of it breaking off or stuck to the wrapper.

That's what all vacuums do, the clue is in the name. They spin a fan/turbine that blows air out of the back of the machine, which creates a vacuum in the middle of the bag, which draws air in through the hose/nozzle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,727 ✭✭✭✭kneemos

No,you could stick the hose in one side or the other for a suck or blow.

I had the misfortune of having to use booking.com's AI phone assistant for a customer service question and it is an absolute piece of sh*t. But what really annoyed me was the keyboard typing sounds that it had. I was talking to software, there is no physical keyboard, f*ck all the way off with that crap.

Joe Brolly is going to patent a new brand of vacuum.

Hopefully he won't be as successful as George Foreman.

    Bet it just sucks.

Seriously who would associate themselves with Brolly?

Inaccurate use of "direct debits" in reporting the Jim Gavin rent issue.

The payments were made by standing order not direct debit. Big difference. It would be impossible for a small landlord to be a direct debit originator.

I have a pair of plastic bottles with the Re-Turn symbol but the stupid machine wouldn't accept them.

Mentioned before but with Samsung putting so much emphasis and money into integrating AI features into their phones, maybe if they would put a wee bit of effort into getting their auto correct working properly first?

It is shockingly bad. Why the phone would think I'd want to type 'thr' instead of 'the', or even 'ir' instead of 'or', ill never understand. I spend so much time going back and correcting my WhatsApp and text messages, yet virtually no time using AI features on my S24.

On the note, Samsung when they do a software update you get asked if you want to install candy crush and 2 other games. If you skip it will continue to give notifications that you need to finish the install and if you remove the ticks from the games they still f**king install!

Evening going grand, had the in-laws over for dinner and it was yummy.

Bit of a TA then that the FIL decides to comandeer the remote and throw on a film on Netflix, with me wanting to watch the football.

First time I have been actually annoyed to be banished to the pub instead

Just spent the last forty minutes washing and scrubbing cutlery, plates, pots, pans and Tupperware as well as having to replenish the washing up liquid dispenser and change the bin bag. One day, JUST ONE DAY of not doing any washing up and it piles on top of you LIKE YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE!!!!!

Treat yourself to some paper plates - although you might have to change the bin bag more often.

My massive keep my mouth shut say nothing TA is that my wife puts the Dishwasher on far too often when its not even half full.

Wake me up when it's all over.

I misunderstood this at first. I thought you were having a discussion in the pub about whether Terminator or T2 is better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,562 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    T1 was better

Only for Guns N Roses done the theme for T2 (i think) i couldn't care less about it

MEGA - Make Éire Great Again

I hate sitting in someone's front sitting room at night with the curtains wide open. I'll spend the night with one eye looking out the window, wondering if someone is outside staring in at us. I can't really tell them to close the curtains because it's not my house.

Yis are all very passive. I wouldn't be able to bite my tongue if my other half was constantly putting on a half-full dishwasher and I'd have absolutely no problem at all asking a friend would they mind closing the curtains in the evening.

Today's TA: My foster dog is gone and I miss him like mad. Spent the entire day yesterday in a fug of snots & tears.
