As I came down the stairs this morning, as I took the last step onto the ground my heel stepped onto something. I tried to stop my full weight from going onto it, but still, tragedy was not averted. Somehow, an orange had ended up at the bottom of the stairs, but in tight against the bottom step so I couldn't see it. Orange squash.

Still….it meant I got a lovely orangey smell into my hallway. 🙃

Amazon descriptions never have the one piece of information that you really need.

Say its a box then you might want to know both the inside and outside dimensions so you know if it will fit where you want to put it and the inside dimensions so you know what will fit inside it?

Don't know how many times I've bought stuff blind of Amazon not knowing it was the size I needed.

Point in case today. Bought some electric motors for remote control aeroplanes. Weight is the key factor and of course the one thing they didn't say in the listing was the weight. They are all too heavy for my current project but guessed they would be and they should come in handy on the next project.

Trying to transfer a large amount of money and it didn't go through. Rang the bank and got talking to an Indian I didn't understand. So frustrating. Was worried I lost the money. So a bit stressed.

The poor selection of size 42 ladies' shoes in the shops. I have big feet (thank you, Mr & Mrs Tork Snr) and find shoe shopping can be a challenge. It's not so hard to buy runners and the likes, but shoes and boots are a different matter altogether. Even some online shoe shops and manufacturers don't go past size 41 in ladies' sizes.

A friend of mine has the exact same problem. Mine, on the other hand, is that it's nigh on impossible to find actually wide fit shoes (that are an average size, otherwise) that accommodate bunions and don't look like seconds from an elderly ladies' bargain basement shop from the 1950s. Feet, eh?

Y'all should meet one of my sibs. she is over 6 foot tall, size 9 EE shoe so cant get clothes or shoes to fit her in Ireland!

Ta next door woke me up leaving at stoopic o'clock, so I opened my bedroom window, got a huge puff of what even they were smoking or burning right into my face so now I'm even more useless with small tasks, and no doubt a never ending headache in arrivals.

Not being able to get a seat in the Outpatients Waiting Room because of all the patients that have brought "partners" with them. Fair enough if it's, say, Oncology OPD where you might need support if the news is bad, or Colorectal OPD, where it might be useful for your partner to know what the crack is with the stoma bag. But this was the Anticoagulant OPD and, as an adult, you should be able to cope with being told that "your INR is a bit low this week, so take 5mg warfarin for two weeks then we'll see you again", without the need for emotional support. One pair had even brought a couple of friends along to "see what went on"! And then we've the "can't be bothered to learn English, but I'll take the free NHS care" lot who need son/daughter to translate and husband/wife for support/to chaperone and then add on a couple of son/daughter's children (why aren't they at school?). And why do so many non-English speakers use their mobile 'phones on speaker-phone, just because they can't be understood? - it's bloody ignorant mate! . . . actually, more puzzling is why English-speakers do it, when they can be understood (some clown read out his full credit card details to the hearing of the entire waiting room). I feel better now.

Judges in this country have too much power and are virtually untouchable. You can't fire or discipline them and there is no department with any sort of oversight on their sentencing.

What would we do for example in the purely hypothetical situation where a paedophile became a judge and was letting all the pedos whose cases he tried off with a slap on the wrist?

I certainly hope that scenario never happens in real life.
