The budget made no allowances for bork.

The amount of posters on a local politician's fb page giving out about the budget and how workers were "screwed over " in the budget!

I see where they are coming from, but the majority of them saying they will never vote ffg again, (insert fav curse here) what did use expect?

Ta ppl not knowing the beliefs of the parties they are voting for and then giving out when the party(s) involved do exactly what their ethos tells them to do!

bought a new phone a few months ago and bought a new case with it.

A few short months later and today the case has literally fallen apart. It looks like the bare minimum amount of shîtty glue was used to attach the leatherette cover to the plastic case part and they’ve separated. There is also fraying along the seams of the cover. Unfortunately sometimes you get what you pay for and this was as I thought..’a bargain’.. but turned into me having to go buy a new case tomorrow. Don’t have time today.

TA that there are goats in the field next door and one of them is making an absolute racket all afternoon. Nothing wrong with them, just bleating loudly so we all know s/he is there

I love goats. They are absolute w@nkers who literally just want to cause as much chaos as possible.

Edit: I still can't believe they actually added "w@nker" to the swear list 🙄

I bet they are quieter than traffic and especially motor bikes.

Saw a guy yesterday on some kind of a scooter with what sounded like a lawn mower engine and you could see the crack of his arse.

He was making a huge amount of noise and showing off the crack of his arse at the same time..

    That's confidence for you.

If I remember my Going Solo correctly (or perhaps it was the 1992 Dahl Diary), it was Dairy Milk he was partial to, not Kit-Kats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,973 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

I heard a Radio 4 program a few years back that stated it was Kit-Kats which is why I checked and found the museum.

    Found it - https://www.bbc.co.uk/webarchive/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fblogs%2Fradio4%2Fentries%2Fd7f3a886-fd4c-3b2c-b221-c84a1a8db27a

There is also a heavy, grey, metallic ball - every day after his lunch, Roald would have a Kit Kat.

But who is to say its wasn't CDM he was partial to?

Maybe his tastes changed over the years 😆

I distinctly remember him writing about getting his first proper job in London and he had a bar of Dairy Milk with his lunch every day and rolled the foil, which he said was much thicker back then, into a ball which he still had on his writing desk. Now it's annoying me that I can't remember if it was in Going Solo or the Dahl Diary (which I still have, in my mum's).

I swear to god my foster dog times his zoomies - and resulting parkour around the sitting room - for when I'm on client calls.

Watching Sound of Freedom on Sky. The story of the influence of music politically and socially. English, French and German commentary. Very good documentary. At least I think it is. The embedded white subtitles are invisible against the bright background.

Mislaid a CD that I thought I only had to put out my hand to pick it up (relatively speaking as I haven't played it in years)…I have an mp3 rip of it on my laptop but I want the real thing and after a good search and no sign, it's annoying me 😁

    RTE 1:

8pm How to Cook Well in Morocco.

    8.30pm Neven's Ulster Trail.

Death by Cookery Programmes and House Programmes. Same faces, Neven, Rory O'Connell, Bannon, Hugh Wallace, Baz doing up a house.

There was more variety in the 1980s. You could have The Greatest American Hero at 6.30pm. Followed by The Superstars 7pm. And then Hart to Hart 8pm.

You've reminded me of another TA on Netflix. Was watching an episode of an american show the other day there were parts in Spanish in this particular episode. There are no automatic translations/subtitles. So I had to turn on the English original with subtitles to get the English translation of the Spanish bits plus I now also had English subtitles for the non-Spanish bits. Annoying.

And unfortunately, it's a very long scroll in my case!

my old man got a warning in his car for low tyre pressure yesterday afternoon, brought the car immediately up to his local garage…the employee basically took half a look, put air in the tyre and said ”no puncture, dodgy sensor”..This morning the folks on the way out to the supermarket and discovered the tyre is totally flat, the auld fella was skeptical but your man in the garage was insistent…

How would you trust a garage / dope of a mechanic that can’t / won’t diagnose a tyre puncture ! The car is only a few months old so wasn’t ever likely to be a dodgy sensor…

There's a program called Education Yorkshire and now Virgin Media are doing a version of it.

It's where a camera goes inside a secondary school and records.

I just hate the idea of it. I'd have been dreading it as a teenager. You'd have students getting into trouble for the camera. Then you'd have teachers who probaly never bother playing the hero.

Whilst they talk about not putting stuff on social media and the dangers of it but they'd happily land them on the TV.

Tv shows that spell out words all over the screen when someone is talking.

The Complaints Bureau on rte is really bad with it.

Plus, what's with all the different angles of Eoin McGee?
