You know when a mad new poster pops up.

And they're banned before you get a chance to read their 4 mad posts😂🙈

If it's who I'm thinking of, he was posting from about 10 different accounts at one point. Who has the time, like??? Or the inclination, tbh. He got caught red-handed too, but somehow managed to talk himself out of a siteban.

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,164 ✭✭✭Oíche Na Gaoithe Móire

    Right! Probably is!

I totally understand if you've long term illness. You're out of work, retired etc. Boards or online fora can be a passtime.

But when it goes to baiting everyone for replies with several question marks etc it's too much. And 10 accounts would suggest to me a complete lack of balance in your life. And would suggest a little mania too, that may need help.

Went for a pint after work, some DJ lad started up at like twenty to eight. Desperately bad. Wouldn't mix concrete.. Had to uproot to another more hospitable hostelry

Once upon a time supermarkets restocked shelves after hours. Now it's the norm to do it during opening hours and any customer (me!) who has to detour around their trolleys and stacks of cardboard can fc*k right off.

Worse in Tesco as they go around filling online orders... I turned into milk aisle one day and there were 3 carts being filled for and order and they take up lot more space than a trolley.

Stop saying and writing 12 pm. It’s 12 noon

I have a blind spot for the time at midday and midnight as the am's and pm's just don't seem to work? Instead I resort to the 24hr clock and 1200 and 2400 hrs.

Wake me up when it's all over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,625 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    yup..much clearer

I use 00:00 hours for midnight

Did something today I haven't done for years.

Emptying dishwasher. Opened upper kitchen press to put plates in. Didn't close it.

Bent down to put a saucepan in the lower press. Stood up and hit head on the open upper door. Still as painful as I remember.

I was in Lidl earlier, and they had 3 pallets of stuff together along the frozen aisle, but up against one side. I had to reach over the pallet and barely got what I wanted, but a shorter person might have been in trouble. There wasn't even anyone there unpacking the pallets, so nobody to even temporarily move them.

I assumed that they might fill those orders from the warehouse stock. Would not make more sense? Although I suppose the stuff in the shop is to be used sooner.

Thats open to debate ;-) A TA of mine is that digital clock manufactures can't make their minds up on 00:00 or 24:00. I have two clocks in the bedroom and at midnight one says 00:00 and the other 24:00 ?????

Wake me up when it's all over.

You would certainly think those online orders should be filled from the warehouses but for some reason no. In my experience one of the worst by far for this Tesco in Nutgrove Shopping Centre. I've never seen it in the neighbouring one in Dundrum SC for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,973 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

I don't understand why anyone would think that? Warehouses are stacked up high with pallets. How do you get one tin of beans down from a pallet 5m up on racking? Lower sales volume items will have either no stock in the warehouse or the stock will be in mixed pallets which you couldn't unload and sort through for one item.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Well excuse me for being so stupid and not knowing the detail of how these massive supermarket warehouses work.

When someone gets arrested and the media say x person is facing 10 years for assault. That's the max sentence your're reporting nobody gets the max sentence stop reporting it.

If I have stopped abruptly and indicated close to a space to park in, it generally means I am intending to parallel park into said space.

Why then, would you drive right up on my hole and start blowing the horn at me when its clear what I am doing? Of course it was someone in one of the three car brands with a bad rep.

Gave them a mouthful back and delighted I did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,973 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

I'll repeat myself as I've posted this before. If you are going to stand any chance of parallel parking without the fool behind you driving right up you arse you have to indicate well before the spot, stop before continuing forward and then reversing back. Even then that doesn't always work but at least you know the asshole is an asshole because you couldn't have made it clearer.

Wake me up when it's all over.

I often think cars should have a display at the back to allow drivers to communicate with those behind them (and get a bit of roadrage out of you, too). For instance:

    1. "Stop tailgating me, you arsehole, I'm doing the speed limit."
    2. "Would you ever dip your beams, you moron, you're blinding me!"
    3. "Yes, I'm indicating, it means I intend to turn that way/to park in that spot. It can't be a total shock to you."
    4. "Yes, please, do overtake me in a dangerous spot only just so you can take that turn that's 10 metres ahead. Waiting another 1.234567 seconds might actually kill you."
    5. "Put. The. Phone. Down. And. Mind. The. Road."

Today I cooked a butternut squash. I knew while I was cutting it it wouldn't be a great one, it didn't smell sweet. Unfortunately it's a bit of a gamble, you can never know whether you're buying a good one or not. Anyway, when it was cooked it tasted quite bland, so I thought I'd try a piece after adding to it nutmeg and a tiny bit of sugar (which I'd use to make soup, anyway). I must look for something else, because as soon as it got into my mouth all I could taste was something that tasted like the smell of a runner's rubber sole. Yeah, no. Pure plastic isn't great for dinner.

Had some oven chips with my dinner and they were beyond rank. I was contemplating ordering a pizza for dinner but thought better of it as I didn’t want to wait, I was too hungry….wish I’d gone for the pizza now. 😵..

Yeah, noon and midnight are neither am nor pm.

Opening hours are longer and some supermarkets don't employ staff for long after closing so they have to stock up during evening hours .

Not saying it's not annoying just why !

My Dad was supposed to go visiting his sister, my cousin her son is home from abroad, he’s godfather to him.

Dad isn’t feeling well so he canceled. No offer from them to call up and see my Dad for 30 minutes just, “ohhh we hope you feel better uncle, see you next time”…hmm they are 20 minutes away, pass his front door on way to the airport too 🤦🏻‍♂️. Same lot who’s mother was ringing my Dad during covid pre vaccine looking for him to come down to do household repairs. Still one way traffic. He’s now realising which is no bad thing. And my TH 😈

Tesco Ardkeen Waterford on a Friday! Every aisle has them and sometimes it's 2 or 3 with their trolleys abandoned in the middle while they huddle together talking or just wandering around blocking the way. Same time they have shelf stockers and the big cages that are also just left on the top the the aisle so only 1 person can get down.

Stock level have gone to sh*te as well. One day 2 bottles of cooking oil left on 3 or 4 rows of shelves. Getting bad now that even basics are not on the shelf when you need them

The whole Taylor Swift phenomenon. She's pretty and succesful and fair play to her, multi-generational wealth. But there is a toxic undercurrent to some of her songs where they are a 'diss track' to other celebs (seemingly Blake Lively and Charlie XCX in her new album), which is ironic considering her fanbase are of the 'be-kind' variety, and there are fooking friendship bracelets traded at her concerts. That's ridiculous.

And I bet there'll be no decent singles from the new album either, yet every review will be glowing.
