I remember back in 1993 looking for them in the local Dunnes (a fairly large one). I asked one of the lads, he was dumbstruck for a minute, then told me the pet shop was around the corner.

I noticed that. What the hell kind of station can't maintain a news service because of holidays. This is the way we've always done things and always will.

If Reeling in the Years was on a rell it would have disintegrated decades ago.

Just press it into the bristles while you squeeze it out, that way it won't fall. Otherwise, wet the brush before putting the toothpaste on. Sorted!

Then how shall the next generation coming of age this year discover their history?
    :)

RTE are now repackaging clips from the recent The Late Late Show season into a 'highlights' programme.
And airing it on a Friday night.
The night any regular LLS watcher would have watched the show.
    Genius!

The amount of people who seem to think NCTing the car is a pleasant couples' activity. You could be doing literally anything else while your partner gets their car tested, why would you subject yourself to half an hour of the most mind-numbing boredom imaginable???

That I bought 4 crunchie ice creams yesterday and promptly ate them all. I'd love one now

You’re my type of person - I do this with Dunnes Cornettos - delicious

Whatever revs your engine, I suppose. Maybe there's something to be said for sitting in a hot, sticky room and looking through the glass at your car getting a seeing to?

People who put things on chairs. I think there's no point having a chair in a bedroom because I've never seen one you could sit on without having to move a load of washing off of.

My husband and I have a deal, if there's a really horrible job that neither of us want to do, we BOTH have to do it together. MOT falls under this category. I'm sure that's not why the other weirdos are there in a pair though!

My TA is being at my 4th funeral this year yesterday. I'm not old enough to be losing this many family members in a single year. And it was down the country so left the house at 9am, got back at 7pm.

Yep, that drives me nuts. End up sitting on the bed.

When people get locked into the most boring, tedious, stupid process and then get really annoyed when you suggest that we need to improve it.

Basically they want to get paid to do busy work. Money for old rope.

TA, the magic wash basket in my house.

My partner tells me she can put any amount of clothes in it and they arrive back folded on the bed the next day. It never works for me, I seem to have to manually do it or it starts overflowing.

I have loads of TAs from yesterday, mainly because I had to go from Newbridge to Naas on public transport so there was loads of dealing with other humans. 😒

The bus I got had a ticket-collector/dispenser as well as a driver, which must be new enough, and I didn't see much positive about it. Firstly, the bus nearly didn't stop, even though there were three of us waiting for it, but more importantly, there were a good few people standing in the aisleway trying to get off the bus, that they didn't notice. Because they over-shot the bus-stop, the bus was now stopped in the main road of the town blocking traffic at a busy time. (Beeeep!!)

After we left the town, the driver pulled over at numerous stops where nobody wanted to get on or off. 🙄 There were other things too, but I won't go into them.

I eventually got to my appointment, where I was having an MRI for the second time. It's not really a trivial annoyance because it has to be done, but having to lie on my back for 40 minutes with my arms above my head in an unnatural position (damn these gorgeous broad shoulders!! 😄) and trying not to breathe for the duration because of yer man saying "Keep still" (even though I'm sure breathing is allowed).

Then, loads more people and a really hot bus home. 😕 It probably wasn't helped that I was supposed to fast for 4 hours before the MRI, which meant that I only had a banana all day until after 7pm. And I'm not a small person…

Thanks! I presume it will be. I mean…what's the point in having a positive one? It'd be nowt but trouble! 😉

    I'll know in 2 weeks. 🤞

I've no idea how people wear jerseys. There the most uncomfortable material ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 17,197 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

I would love that , though I might keep it . I miss cats . My ex wife was terrified of our kitten so had to go even though the children loved it . She wasn't so much afraid of it as just hated anything she wasn't involved with. Pcycho .

Trying to tidy my room. There's clothes that I have and I'll never wear them but there could be an emergency.

The price of them is my TA… saw earlier new club Adidas jerseys this summer now €100… for what ? Mass produced 100% light polyester shirts with big in your face sponsors logos…

Yeah, you are paying good money to advertise a brand for a company, and get and have to wear a horrible cheap plastic shirt. Makes no sense.

TA that someone posted a job vacancy yesterday but when I clicked on it today, the job was already taken down. Double TA that they posted another, even more suitable job this afternoon which I read and was going to apply to later. 3 hours later that job has already been taken down 🙄

There's a trick recommended for people with a tendency to hoard known as the "Poo test" -basically, if an item you're finding it hard to part with was covered in shìte, would you clean it off and keep it, or chuck it? If it's the latter, there's your answer.

Can't say I've ever had to employ it, I'm absolutely ruthless about clearing stuff out, particularly clothes. I swap my winter and summer clothes out every year and my rule is that if I didn't wear it during that season, it doesn't go back up to the attic for the next one. Obviously I make exceptions for really good stuff/occasion wear, but in general it's a really good rule of thumb for everyday clothes - if you didn't wear it this year, you're unlikely to wear it next year.

If I pay you can you help me. Not clothes necessarily , but EVERYTHING. I inherited my fathers attitude that " it might do a trick or two 😡
