Shops seemingly just making up prices and seeing if people are stupid enough to pay them.

Was in Dublin North City centre today and saw a bakery, bog standard chain type and thought I'll bring some cakes home for the family.

Selection was crap but they had some standard factory made coffee slices. I asked how much and was told six euro each!!

Seriously wtf, who is paying these mental prices?

Big TA… bogey, Either the car is a mock up, or the wall behind it is. Perhaps both…Because no fûcker is going to back up a car of that value millimetres from a concrete wall. Also you build a wall up from the bottom so you won’t have half bricks down there. It’s a studio effect..Katy getting into a party dress and gloves to show us her new car, the subdued lighting, yeah ok Katy. Looks good Elon ? Looks very dodgy actually Elon, on both your parts.

    😮

You've reminded me of a TA from a while back. I moved a while ago from Dublin to t'other side of the country. In Dublin we would have grown up having a coffee slice as a very occasional treat and always from Mannings. Fast forward to me living elsewhere, there is a local chain of bakeries here that are very popular and in a similar set up to Mannings. Feeling a little homesick one day, I bought myself a coffee slice. It looked like a coffee slice, I asked for a coffee slice but it was in fact a custard slice with brown icing on top. Disappointed and confused. On the plus side, I've stopped eating coffee slices 🤣

Think we've all done it, you do something automatically while you're thinking of something else and then think , how did that get there.

That ' poke ' feature on Facebook… and adults who use it….one in a different time zone an hour ahead in central Europe but poking me at 6.55am this morning… what do they suspect..that I'm going to wake up and start a conversation ?

I'll be awake for 17/18 hours so kindly choose an appropriate time…in the afternoon or evening…and text like the adult human that you are…

    TAed that I'm an idiot.

One of those rare times when I sent of a cheque in the post and I forgot to sign it. Just got it back in the post today. Other TA is I have to find and excuse to pop into town to post it so my wife doesn't find out - she knows I'm and idiot and I don't want to give here anymore ammo.

I don't know what else is wrong with my brain for the past two days,

A critical, serious meeting dragged on, in the middle a 30ish year old male stood up to divulge some important information to the group, he kept referring to a bonking email and later to a f**king email. Not in the least appropriate, but I kept hearing it! No one else commented, so I assume I misheard, but what is that saying about my brain!!!

A person in my company all afternoon, saying fiver optic broadband, for what feels like a million times so far!! I'm trying to keep my bp down so I'm staying quiet, but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I ordered something from Disney. At the time there was a promotion running if you spend X you get Y free. Y would actually make a decent present for an upcoming birthday.

So off I went buying extra (I'm a marketers dream)

Got no notification until I got a delivery today email stating one of my parcels was due for delivery and a receipt. Y wasn't included so I presumed coming from a different warehouse it will be in a different delivery (hence 1 of your parcels)

Waited a few days, had to go into the website again with order number to find out Y was cancelled (no email telling me Y was cancelled)

Contacted them....they said sorry out of stock...here's a code for free delivery on your next order.

Eh no I want Y or at least notification that Y was unavailable, within 24 hours,so I could cancel all the impulse purchases.

Won't be shopping from Disney again....I get stock can go out of stock quickly but a courtesy email is not a lot to ask for

Having to spend £1000 on repairs for the car just to pass the mot. Fcuk me if I could afford a new one I would but this is a very bitter pill to swallow right after the council rates are paid.

Tipping Point … the TV programme.

Not the programme itself, which I sometimes use as a mind numbing distraction from the need of any mental effort from me ….. it is the issue where every so often one of the counters falls off the bottom ledge in a way that allows it to drop to the floor outside of the machine and presenter Ben Shephard then has to say that the escapee counter is still added to the total drop.

In all the years and years that the programme has been on air, why has someone in the props dept not just increased the height of the clear perspex outer guard so that the counter bounces back in and doesn't hop out of the machine?

Trivial, but an annoyance that I have spent far too much time thinking about, nonetheless.

Companies & business that advertise their phone numbers using "artistic" formats like the ones I've made up here.

    08 62 34 1 234, 089 8 56 78 90, 0864 3 243 21. Several formats witnessed on the side of vans. Surely there is one standard format.

You could be looking at older threads that predate the forum changeover in 2020, sometimes on an old thread you might still thank a post, all the likes have disappeared and If you don't realise you've thanked it already it shows a minus thanks.
