In a similar vein, I raised a query with a company a while back. I was told very snootily that due to GDPR, they couldn't answer bla bla bla. It was quite a general query and I knew they were talking nonsense in this case about GDPR.

I asked them to point out specifically where what they were saying was covered in the legislation, and of course they couldn't. 🤷‍♀️

I was in Curries a few days ago and asked help from an assistant about a purchase. The absolute pong off her was unbelievable. It was late in the evening so I guess it was a day's worth of accumulated sweat. I don't understand how they aren't self-aware of how bad they smell, or at least management of the store noticing it too and telling them to improve their hygiene.

Was it a young girl? Hygiene among some youngsters now leaves a lot to be desired. I have had first hand

nose experience of it myself.

Plus most managers would never dare to approach a young staff member about their pong, 'their bullying comments affected my mental health negatively' might be running through the manager's mind.

I am waiting, in what was a quiet part of the hotel lobby away from everyone else, reading, while I wait until it's time to go to the airport. 3 foreign girls, who were loudly talking at the other end of the hotel, get up, and proceed to sit next to me, talking in ridiculously loud voices in their language. Like WTF???? Who does that??? Pack of wagons 🤬🤬🤬

This set of bloods crept up behind me and even with my best efforts to eat right/exercise etc was too little.

tiptoed around eating the least amount of sugar and carbs, still not the way it should have been.

Got them done yesterday, took a specific panel and so no need for the sugar/carbs avoidance!

This is it. I've spent a long time managing in hospitality and it's a very touchy subject to broach. In my opinion it's not about sweating so much. I sweat pretty much 24/7 always have but I don't smell. I always find it's them wearing the same uniform several days without washing it and add lack of showering into that the BO will be shocking.

I sweat pretty much 24/7 always have but I don't smell.

I don't mean to imply that you do (I don't know you from Adam), but you can become completely immune to your own smell and not realise you do stink. It's worse if you've had Covid or some other infection that affected your sense of smell. I wish I was joking.

Believe me I don't smell my Mrs would kill me. Plus I work management in a pretty high end hotel so id be told very quickly if there was a hygiene issue. With the sweating it's called hyperhidrosis. It's not a medical condition it's basically you nerves are too close to the sweat glands so are constantly moving hence the sweat. BO is caused by lack of showering and dirty unwashed clothes not sweat.

It's caused by bacteria, which proliferates when you don't wash yourself (not you-you) or your clothes, while sometimes it's hormonal or caused by illnesses. Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating, though, not normal perspiration. Sorry, this probably sounds a lot like mansplaining… That reminds me of an old "joke" that said that ladies perspire while men sweat.
