Amazon and their sneakiness in signing you up for Prime without you asking for it.

Just happened me again. I think for the 3rd time in maybe 18 months.

Last thing I ordered was a 99p Kindle book. But then the next day I get an email to say welcome to Prime! They obviously had a little check box somewhere on the screen ticked, that I was meant to uncheck if I didn't want Prime, but I didn't see it. Like before.

To be fair to them they refund the money quickly but surely let me decide if I want Prime, stop be underhand about it.

I read a great review of north of north it's a great romantic comedy like northern exposure for 2025 set in Canada I watched one episode I cannot see any jokes at all it's like the office take out the funny characters and jokes replace with people wearing fur coats and some native indians

Its slightly better than the new oz version of the office but that's not saying much

Looked at an hourly weather forecast online at around midday for my area of Dublin, rain was supposed to have stopped for a couple of hours this evening . A major TA I have is ads for 3 . They are the worse network I have encountered . I left them 5 years ago and on my new number I keep getting spam calls from them .

You can't delete a post but you can edit it to remove your message (but leaving the minimum amount of characters). And I don't see a problem with the quote function.

aunt 93 or 94 is in a private hospital in the UK. Of the 4 in the ward the other 3 have covid so she keeps a small window beside her some of the day a bit open for ventilation. Of all people the ground zero wan moaning as it was drafty…This same wan didn’t mind inviting double her allowed visitors in, spreading a virus…🤦🏻‍♂️. But is harassing another patient who is just trying to mitigate getting infected…

when she went in ( orthopaedic ward ) nobody had covid, it was courtesy of Mrs ‘let’s be social and invite the world and it’s mother to visit me ‘ and 3 of them ended up getting it. My aunt has a fractured pelvis after a fall so it’s not a case of being allowed home… they’ve no spare beds elsewhere….the one plus is she already has had the virus and even at her age had mild symptoms she found it easy to cope so hopefully given that it’s a big room she won’t get it again..

Lost an integral part off the lawnmower somewhere in the garden last year. The grass is so high i can't find the stupid part, even tried using my brother in laws metal detector. I'll have to just give in and order a new part.

Ok this is a weird one I was watching the international news about the Pope dying etc etc. One of the cardinals was speaking Italian. Suddenly I blurt out

“Ritzatelephoni a se mezza meta di domani” (Not sure of spelling)

Then says I “Jayus what was that?” Then thought about it. It was years ago as a teenager in my parents house one of the summer foreign students taught me that line phonetically. Over and over.

Because he knew he would not be there when his father would call. His father had no English. I think it meant “Call back at half six tomorrow”. Something along those lines.

I did think of a solution to verify this. But it will involve buying chips
Go to the local Italian chipper. But I don’t want chips so it has to wait. But it is annoying me. Do I buy chips I don’t want to get the answer?

USB-A cables can go into a usb socket one of two ways. So the odds of you randomly getting it to fit correctly first time of trying should be 50/50 right?

Not for me. It seems 9 times out of 10 I have it the wrong way round.
