I don't think Tubs can return to "The Full Irish" on Today FM, think it is too late, not sure who would replace Iano, but I can't see Bauer looking for a "big name", they will prob move someone over from either 98FM or Spin FM as a replacement... but they'll probably own all the radio stations in Ireland by that point.

Back in the days of dial-up Internet and modems, the ping to game servers used to be between 150 milliseconds and 500 milliseconds (almost half a second) so anyone on a university network rather than dial-up had an advantage because their ping would be lower (less than 100 milliseconds). When someone was shooting at an LPB, the target may not have been in the same location due to the LPB's faster connection and they would be more difficult to hit. Players from universities with good Internet connections benefited and a few on an opposing team could make things difficult for dial-up players. Third level being third level, some of these people played online in teams or clans.

There’s a fair number of networks within Boards users, a lot casual with mainly PMs, some WhatsApp groups around from time to time. Boards.ie is the top visible layer of discussion, there’s lots of discussion under the waves, so to speak.

The 150,000 will be to pay back the 150,000 he owes back, but does not owe back in his head... After a year he will be back on 300,000. This is still less than Kevin gets, after his pension @ 25% and allowances are taken into account.

I am not saying this is what I would want, but is how may happen.

Basic Social Network Theory. If you look at any online community, cliques will develop. There are pro-Tubridy posters, there are posters who don't share those views of Tubridy, there are people in the broadcasting industry, there are people who have an interest in broadcasting and there are people who are just interested. Tubridy doesn't seem like an online gamer who would have been into Quake at the time of the foundation of Boards.ie and that's the point.

So, any opinion on Tubridy having a path back into Irish radio at a national level?

I’ve never involved myself in online cliques, but if that’s your bag, fill your boots, I say. Odd that the only Tubridy connection is that he wasn’t a member of a very particular specialist minority subset of them back in the day, but I’m assuming you were one of these Quakers, so the identity holds a particular significance to you.
