That would be awful news. Ryan O'Neil springs to mind as someone in similar circumstances although he went well enough for Armagh. Played in the same age bracket as McCann and McIlroy and if I had to guess which one of them would've been a pro back then it would have been him. Hopefully Jackson gets to make some sort of go at it.

Only three for Ulster but at least two of them are probable starters (i think).

I didn't realize that Smyth and Mullan both played for blackrock. Are they different years? Or did one switch position? It does look like they have three tightheads so maybe mullan has moved over?

mullan was 6th year last year.. out of school now.. smyth was his backup last year but was injured
