Now the world’s worst commentator is in - Chris Bradnam.

3-3 in the TB. Different game when Stan is getting 1st serves in.

Warwinka really throw that tiebreaker away. Novak strolling through the rounds with ease.

Very difficult to get invested in the men's side when Djokovic will likely canter to the title. Alcaraz does have the potential to make it tricky for him, but probably doesn't yet have the necessary experience to beat him on grass.

Swiatek into the 4th round, which is as far as she's ever progressed. If she can win that one then I think it's time to consider her a title contender.

So Hurkacz next for Djock, unlikely to trouble him,Rublev perhaps after that ,too fragile and maybe then Sinner who would have a sluggers chance.

For Djock, and Nadal at French they get max 3 and as little as two really tough games to win Major but most are dismissed easily.

Seeding really works in maintaining the status quo.

Thats why Kyrios is so interesting ,although normally not seeded he can and does beat anyone on his day.

Just watching Kvitova v Stevanovic, Stevanovic's grunting is ridiculous, really should be some sort of penalty for over the top unnecessary grunting like hers.

Kvitova is too good for her anyhow

    Too much drama with stevanovic

commentator just mentioned Stevanovic average earnings on tour is 34k a year ,and Kvitova is 2 million. The cannon fodder for the marquee players to hammer nearly every week really are a special breed and are to be applauded for their perseverence .I suppose a Eubank beating Norrie story on centre court just keeps them chasing their mostly unattainable dream.

Very harsh lads. Stevanovich’s horse is willing her on, every shot………

This interview with Katie Boulter and asking her how she copes with the pressure of being the British number 1. Jaysus puke inducing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭Jack Daw

This whole British number 1 nonsense that he BBC go on with is such a load of bull.Katie Boulter is ranked 89 in the world (fair play to her) but stop bleating on about her being British number 1 as if it means anything. Why the hell would you be bothered going on about countries number 1 when they're ranked 89 in the world. I don't see other grand slams where they bang on relentlessly about the Australian number 1, French number 1 ,American number 1.

    Rant over.

    No center court ?

Kazak number 1 putting the British number 1 under pressure in the 4th game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,547 ✭✭✭Floppybits

Don't think this is going to last long unless Boulter has something special to trouble Rybakina.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,547 ✭✭✭Floppybits

    Awesome stuff from Rybakina.

Dennis Shapovalov (considered by some to be one of the great talents in the history of the game) beaten by world number 99 Roman Safiullin. Another disappointing result for him. Will he ever fulfill that amazing potential he has?

As factitious as your being, it must be accepted he has great talent, far greater than what he's currently producing. He was even playing at a higher level two years ago.

I accepted he's been getting worse and at times brutal recently, just thought this could be the tournament that was finally the spark to turn it around for him.

Ye I'm wrong, but let's not pretend he doesn't have huge potential if he could put right everything that he's doing wrong. He has huge raw potential and ability, even the biggest cynics must see that at the very least?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,095 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

Lleyton Hewitt was technically the greatest player ever, the big 3 aren't infallible in their ability. He has no weapons, all his success was based on nothing but shot placement and his technical ability.

But if the rhetoric isn't the big 3 are the best ever, it's ridiculed. Hewitt was so far off the pace in power, weapons, size and everything else, the technical side of his game elevated him to a level he had no business ever being part off, and kept him there for years. In a sense, "pound for pound", Hewitt was the best. Give him weapons, size and power, along with his technical ability, he'd wipe up

The point is, you ridicule Shapovalevs ability, whereby, in my opinion, he could be one of the greats, if he put it all together. The big 3 aren't the measurement you think they are. Their Slam count is elevated in many ways

This Swiatek Bencic match is an absolute cracker. Swiatek saving match points in second set.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,205 ✭✭✭Augme

So the big three are overrated and Shapavalov in underrated? Okay... 😂

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Swiatek takes second set, some terrific hitting in this match.

Bencic passing up two match points!

Wow, super from Swiatek. Thought it was all over at 5-6 15-40. Getting through this match and reaching her first QF would be a huge mental hurdle to overcome.

Mental strength isn't something she's struggled with in general anyway, so it'll only make her even stronger.

    Some screaming in this match

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Totally agree an excellent match, definitely the best woman's match I have seen so far this year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,958 ✭✭✭kirk.

Bit unfair player bringing politics into the match

Really poor form from the wimbledon crowd to boo Azerenka. They really can be fairly scummy quite often but you'll never hear BBC say that.
