Stokes reviewed a "catch" that he knew he dropped. Not really in the "spirit of the game".

Anyway looks like the rain is coming so unlikely there'll be a whole lot of play this afternoon.

Rain has arrived. Speculating they could lose about 2 hours.

Save a few English blushes. No doubt that Eng were on top in last match when rain came. But despite all their palaver and luv ins, the Aussies will have the moral victory here if there's a draw. And a 2-1 win.

Should be clear by 4. Australia really should win from this position.

The approach of both teams will be interesting to see if we get two hours or a bit more of play. 150 runs is doable but don't think 7 wickets is.

Pitch inspection at 4. Hopefully we'll get a long uninterrupted final session. All results still possible if so.

I’m thinking if Australia knock off another 50 only losing 1 wicket. They’ll easily score 100 runs with their final 7 wickets…

don’t think England have enough to bowl them out. Might be wrong but my gut instinct.

    restart 4.20.

All in Australia's court now as they can go hard and get quick runs and if England get a few wickets, they could then shut up shop if they have to.

England need a magical spell from someone.

This is where in times gone by you’d just throw the ball to Anderson and go all out attack.

he’s only taken 1 wicket having bowled 40 overs so far in this test…so…. Who is your ‘go to’ guy now ?

I’m just seeing the Stokes drop for the first time. Idiot. Celebrating before he catches the ball.

now wicketless Moeen into the attack… you couldn’t make it up.

Woakes looking most likely to get a wicket.

More amateur hour from the umpires / match referee… miscalculating the overs left in the day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,157 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Head edges to Crawley. Big spin from Ali. England still have hope.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,841 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Ali with a good delivery, taking a wicket, he looks as surprised as anyone else. 👀

    Travis Head out.

    Smith gone!

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,075 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Australia in trouble now. Smith out.

Getting interesting...may need another captain's innings from Cummins

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,157 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Wow, what a catch from Bairstow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,075 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Massive collapse from Australia in the last 3 overs.

    Woakes again!

If England do win this, surely Chris Woakes would be man of the series, despite only playing 3 matches.

He has been brilliant in his usual understated way.

4 wickets in 4 overs. Incredible collapse by Australia.

All over now. Australia falling apart.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,841 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

    Collapse of English proportions…. . Didn’t see this coming….🤓

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,075 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

15 minutes ago they were 263-3. Now 275-7.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,176 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Carey just needs to hit out here

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,075 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

    England like collapse by Australia.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,341 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

    Nice delivery ali

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,176 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    What was that from cummins

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭MFPM

This absolutely mirrors the England innings, cruising and then collapse. Woakes has been exceptional but Australia have really let this slip.

England didn't collapse, they frittered away their wickets carelessly with 380+ on the board. Big difference.
