No thunderstorm warning in uk. They’d often issue yellow for less than they’re getting now.

Very active storms over in the UK today, Convective Weather nailed it- great forecasting, well done Dan.

Shallow convection about over Kerry today, a few showers but nothing too heavy, good sunny spells from the afternoon.

Lincolnshire today, heavy rain from those thunderstorms.

Parameters although slight still favourable for some thunderstorm development again tomorrow. Nice converging winds along the W coasts initially and later more inland and N midlands and enough LLS and DLS available in the mix to aid convection. Temps getting up to the mid to high teens tomorrow with Dp's getting up around 12C in places. Some heavy showers developing. Pulse type thunderstorms it would seem if they get enough energy to develop.

Monday looks interesting for thunderstorms maybe widespread but perhaps best in the Eastern half of the country, has that summery look of high Theta E readings, temps getting up to 20C or so with a high Dp of up to 14C so humid and plenty of moisture in the atmosphere. Decent shear levels and will see how good the deep layer shear is closer to the off. Also convergence zones especially along the E later in the afternoon. One to watch.

Convective weather's forecast for Ireland today is not too bad for many areas, if you're too see heavy showers and maybe a thundery shower.

"A shortwave will approach Munster mid/late morning and swing northeastwards through the afternoon, again overlapping favourably with diurnal heating and providing the focus for scattered heavy showers and a few thunderstorms to develop. This is likely to be the most favourable environment for a couple of slightly stronger thunderstorms out of the whole of the British Isles on Saturday, with a better overlap of CAPE and modest 20-30kt DLS (especially across Leinster and Ulster where low-level winds will be backed). The strongest cells may produce hail <1cm in diameter and/or wind gusts to 30mph."

    Donegal fairly active this afternoon.

Status Yellow - Thunderstorm warning for Donegal

    Met Éireann Weather Warning

Thunderstorm activity may persist for a few more hours, mostly in northern Donegal. Lightning, hail and heavy downpours are possible, leading to some surface water flooding and poor travel conditions.

I missed the strikes in athlone at noon by choosing to go to the jacks at the wrong moment. Kids got to see a great light show.

Then, I was cooking dinner just now. Wife got to see all the lightning at 6:30 and didn't tell anyone until it was gone by. Trying to decide if her not telling us is grounds for divorce

I'd bet a fair bit of money and say that there was definitely lightning in your thunderstorm 😉

Meanwhile in Longford, recently heard a rumble of thunder from the storm about 30km over Lough Ree!

Still some heavy rain about, that feature looks like the trough line .

Could reach up to 20C tomorrow in places with frontal rain passing over the country followed by a very mild and humid night maybe getting no lower than 14C in places, Monday showing a very moist warm atmosphere, temps getting up into the high teens widely and touching 20c or so. Plenty of moisture on the ground to be lifted into the already unstable moist airmass at the back end of the front , Dp's could be getting up around 13C - 14C or so. Convergence also playing a part and decent wind shear, more Deep Layer Shear than of late could make it an active thunderstorm day across the country with some heavy local falls of rain and hail. Will see where the Shear is strongest , for now the charts showing the S, SE counties so funnels might also be possible.

Preliminary charts and musings, currently I think it looks like a lot of counties could be under Thunderstorm warnings with localized flooding a possibility.

Your shout about Monday looking spot on. Early thunderstorm warning issued for tomorrow for Derry,Tyrone, Armagh, Fermanagh, Down and Antrim.

1200 to 2100 Heavy showers are expected to develop by the afternoon across Northern Ireland, aided by daytime heating. These may turn heavy and thundery at times, with a risk of hail. The heaviest showers are most likely in the east of the Province. Totals of 30-40mm in a couple of hours are possible.

Just my thoughts. I think any county tomorrow could see thunderstorms but peaking more in the Eastern side of the country. Quite possible that more counties are included in the yellow warning, but you can never know for certain where will get the most Thunderstorm activity. I would have thought all along the E and SE could get very active, surprised Dublin isn't in the warnings as the weather migrates East set to peak with peak diurnal heating which could be over 20C and very humid with high Dp's. Converging winds could kick up some powerful storms along the E, NE, SE tomorrow late afternoon /early evening as they move off shore from the land. Lapse rates very decent, Deep layer shear not bad and strongest further South so funnels possible, wouldn't be surprised to hear of some tornadic activity out of one of the cells. Could be quite an active day, wouldn't be surprised to see an area go to Orange level warning if a big slow moving Thunderstorm gets organized.
