Anyone else finding that the bar staff also these days leave alot to be desired. Some of my locals have new staff and they have more interest in looking at their phones that serving pints. Also heads down and can only deal with one drink at a time, must not look up incase they catch your eye. Bring back the old style bar staff that had a pint on for you when they saw you walk in the door or you just had to give them a nod.

    The Equality Act (2004).

Of course, come in and destroy the place.

That goes beyond bars. See the same in cafés where it takes stupid amount of time to complete very basic orders. Good staff for such menial jobs are just not out there any more.

I remember a family ran bar from years ago where they developed their own bar sign language to communicate during loud busy nights. Well oiled machine. Now, to experience anything beyond mediocre service anywhere is almost a pleasant surprise. It does happen but is increasingly rare.

It's very, very rare to find a pub without it. usually right inside the door, in a lobby if there is one.

Don't expect it to be drawing attention, or even be somewhere properly lit, but it's there

That doesnt mean customers in rural pubs are abiding by drink driving laws. Its still being broken every day, many customers would rather take the risk of getting caught behind the wheel tanked up than just sit at home alone with no human company over the weekend. Add in a lack of resources for rural customers like taxis or vans to bring them home and the problem is just exacerbated.

A quick glance at the weekly court listings will tell you how many people are breaching drink driving laws.

Any pub going for a volume play is usually rough as sh1t and the direct opposite of an enjoyable experience, by any measure
