Think waterford had players from the minor winning team who were under 16.

Murphy and McHugh were 2 I read somewhere

Lyng ratified for 2 years with a review after 1 according to KKGAAA news on Instagram. Corcoran head coach with Rice, Donovan and Eddie selectors

Great news with Eddie Brennan appointment and delighted to see Niall Corcoran in as head coach. He's very well regarded and look forward to seeing what they can bring to the table in terms of forward movement and possession.

Best of luck to Derek and his management team. We've been very close over the last 2 years, hopefully the shake up will be a point of difference.
That and if some rich benefactor could offer Huw a bribe to change his mind on going travelling…

No white smoke on announcement of 20 and Minor management which is very disappointing. There was talk of Henry and Tommy for 20's which would be fantastic. I've heard multiple names for Minor job but no clear consensus. Hearing different names depending who you speak to

U16 ye weren't in the top 6 in the country.

U15 ye were basically an All Ireland semi finalist.

U14 Leinster and Munster were split but ye won the Leinster competition.

Galway won the u15 and u16 A competitions.

U14 teams were two mixed teams as opposed to A and B. They both won their semi finals vs Wexford (with a last minute goal) and Galway and played each other in the final of the 4 team tournament they were in.

U15 A team lost to Tipp in their semi final (underperformed on the day ) and then drew with Waterford in their shield final. I don't know how u15 B team got on.

U16 A team had come third in their qualifying group over the last few months so only qualified for the secondary competition, lets call it the shield competition. They were beaten in the semi final by Waterford so in the (let's call it the Plate) final, they beat Laois well.

The u16B team played Limerick in their semi final and won by a point. They lost their final then against Cork by two points (after leading by two points in injury time but then conceding a last minute goal, and then a point).

They said on the meeting to ratify Lyng last night that they are hoping to have the U20 manager ratified at next Monday's county board meeting.

Was at the under 14 matches myself, seem a good bunch, with both panels meeting in the final, I think that's the 3rd year in a row that management over the winning panel have been involved, they have won a trophy every year, they seem to be able to get a good tune out of whatever group they get!

How did Galway do under 14 ? They seem very strong at 15 and 16. How did our under 14s do against Munster opposition. Munster is getting very very strong, even Waterford now seem stronger than us underage.

My understanding is that Kilkenny wanted to continue to put in an A and a B team like previous years into the Tony Forristal , when the organisers have been looking to move towards mixed teams. I think the KK u14 management weren't in favour of this mixed teams approach. and decided not to attend if it wasn't A and B. (For example last year's Kilkenny u14 team who won the Tony Forristal competition were an A team as opposed to a mixed ability team)

I think there was some kind of change of heart then later in the season and my understanding is that the U14 group was then actually divided into two mixed ability teams instead of being A and B and went into this Leinster only tournament with these two mixed teams who ended up both winning their semi final in that mini tournament. So it does beg the question as to why Kilkenny didn't just continue to just enter the Tony Forristal and get to play against the Munster teams in this ? I dont know why that was or perhaps something came down centrally to say these development competitions needed to be run off by province. Someone closer to it might know more.

My understanding is that the under 14 is gone regional now, with a separate Munster and Leinster competitions, Munster one is just using the name Tony Forristal as its being held annually in Waterford! Its all mixed abilities teams now or divisional teams at under 14! Say its coming from Croke Park

The Kilkenny under 14 team that won out the Leinster competition at the weekend, won all their matches this year, I heard on Saturday, I had seen them beat teams from Waterford and Limerick anyway not sure of who else they played though

What clubs are the top players u14 from in Kilkenny ? Thanks for the feedback. Hard to gauge where we are. Few things i noticed underage, obviously Waterford were excellent Minor and also Ballygunner won the u15 All Ireland Feile comfortably, so Waterford are picking up. Galway seem excellent u15 and u16 and gauges well for them minor next year. Hard to know where Cork are at as they have so many teams now.

Two Cork divisional teams played in the final of the Tony Forristal last weekend

Challenge for Galway is converting it down the line 1 All Ireland in 35 years with all there underage success, won 5 u18/u17 out of 6 between 2015-2020 but haven't a u21 or u20 since 2011.

Yeah I think ye have a good u14 crop, I know the Wexford u14s were decent this year did really well against the Munster counties but we lost anytime we played ye.

Good to see the senior back room team freshened up the proof will be in the pudding though I’d be a bit skeptical until we see some actual improvement in players skills and our style of play

2 new men were brought in last year wall and Doherty admittedly he didn’t get a good run with the team due to the suspension but I find it strange to see them both gone after one year

Galway are Galway and that was a fantastic senior team they had that won the All Ireland and were lucky it was Waterford in the final. If it was any other county they would not have won, just a mentality they have. They more than likely will do nothing with the 15/16 age group either, mad county.
