I wondered about him the last two games, he wasn't controlling ball he should when he was out in front, if he's trying to flick it to advantage he'll need to be very good at it. Jake does a lot of that, not the time of year either for it.

Saw a good bit of Cork and KK and also Waterford and Clare as well as Tipp game today. Couple of bits common across all three games, all teams had very lean spells during each game, other than Clare the rest were looking for the defender bursting forward into space for scores, running off the shoulder, all teams did quite a bit of passing around in the full backline, back to the keeper etc. After a lot of passing getting someone into space on the ball, ball played forward was very 50:50 ball, in no team were the inside forwards getting good possession. Heavy pitches may have a role in that.

Good game overall. Some right boggy patches in the pitch. Iv never seen Thurles cut up so badly. It really needs a rest .

Is Adrian O’Brien not an S&C Coach? Or is the title they have in the picture just the same role but a different title?

Does he have a say in coaching etc?

Draw for the footballers. Long road ahead. But they're doing the right things. Young panel - big panel. A lot of young lads going to be developed. Long road ahead - some serious talent there though if they can keep them together.

important for the supporters not to become negative

Anyone know where Even Comerford or Mike Reilly are?

Yesterdays keeper looked very unsure under the high ball.

Was Evan Comerford not on the bench?

Rodgers plays for Naas and is well regarded up here so a bit surprised with your comments.

As part of the strategic plan for football in the county, there was one very good idea (among many to be fair). Football is in very poor state in the North. Did this happen? :

Aspire to have a representative from North Tipperary involved in the backroom team of every inter county squad from U-14 to Senior. While it is accepted that currently North Tipperary is represented on most teams in the academies and at competitive inter county level, it is proposed that Tipperary County Board formally direct that, where possible, all inter county football squads have at least 1 member of the backroom team from North Tipperary. The benefits of this are two-fold. 1 – A representative from the North division will be closer to the players in that division and should be in a position to contact or recommend individual players who may be hidden from sight at a lower grade of club activity. 2 – Having a representative from the North division immediately gives a sense of prestige to other people in that division, and to players who will feel they have a voice on the management team.

2019 Agreement reached with county board and other relevant stakeholders by Dec 2018

There’s the bones of a decent team there. Only a point off loais today - nobody gave Tipp a prayer today. Lots of positional switching and chances again but that’s to be expected

They played well in the second half according to the radio. You have to remember it is division 4.

Both Tipp and Laois footballers are there for a reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,309 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

I think Laois are bit better than division 4. They shouldn't be in the league. They've won two games in the division by more than ten points. They're running away with the league. To get within a point of them was good going.

Any word on club manager/coach appointments around the county? Hear Brian Carroll gone from Lorrha back to take over his own club Coolderry but Ken Hogan staying on, Kiladangan Sean O'Meara stepped away as selector. Shannon Rovers meant to have lad from Birr signed up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 Ballers86

Only 2nd club from outside of Cork or Kerry to win it since it started in 2007 and first Tipp club to win it. Other club was Limericks Ballybrown in 2017 I think serious achievement for the Lower Ormond men add to that their women were in a Munster final too.

Fingers crossed this lad comes through for the seniors. Wasn't on the under 20 panel last year I think (unbelievable **** - no Tom Delaney either). Talk surrounding the under 20s this year is not good at all. Cummins and management seems to have lost the dressing room before the season has even started. This is cruel because there's some serious talent available for the grade this year. Management have it all to do now.
